Strengths:    Bombproof construction, light weight, supple suspension, and dead-sexy! (ALL bikes should be flat-black!)

Weaknesses:    No lock-out (pro-pedal) on the rear shock.

Bottom Line:
I did a LOT of research before I purchased this bike- I have always liked Cannondales, but have never owned one. I had read that the shocks and brakes were only adequate so I bought replacements for the stock Manitou Radium R rear shock and the Rock Shox tora 302 Front Shock before I even bought the bike. I have to say that I was quite suprized at just how well the stock shocks performed, and although there was no lockout on the rear, the pedal-bob was minimal. I went to a 29er on the front end (the current setup is dead-sexy!) and replaced the rear with an RP23 for the lockout, but had I not already purchased them, I would have left the bike as is. The brakes are not the most amazing hydraulic I've ever used, but they work well and do not gobble. I'm totally happy with them. As far as the pedal cages- I actually like them- takes me back to my bike as a kid. Really my only complaint is the vast amount of goathead flats I get every freakin' day, but I can't fault the bike, or even the Kenda nevegals for that- it's just that time of year. I have used slime tubes and spinskins but the added weight kinda sucks (although they help). I'll be going to Stan's Tubeless soon enough. I've made other purchases where I've had 'buyers remorse' after dropping a butt-load of cash for an inferior product- not this time!! I'd hands down buy this bike again in an instant, or recomend it to anyone that wants a high quality, satisfying ride. 5 chili's!

Strengths:    Solid suspension, Feel comfortable going down hill.

Weaknesses:    Handle Bars too wide. Comes with pedal cages.

Bottom Line:
No XC Bike should come with pedals with cages. Overall, the bike is a good entry level bike. The biggest problem is going through technical trees with the wide handlebars. The quality is solid and everything works. Value rating 4 b/c of the pedals. Overall rating 4 b/c of the handlebars.

Good bike for cross country. The way the rear suspension is set up, it looks like it could take more abuse than I have given it.

Rush 4 - Avid Juicy 7

I have the stock Juicy 7 set up on my Rush. I noticed recently, after an over the bars flight, that the rear brake lever extends forward, beyond the normal position. There is an audible click sound when extending it. The front lever does not do this. Is this normal, if so, is there a reason for this ... Read More »
