Strengths:    Good set of headline components and a good price.

Weaknesses:    Not really designed by a mountain-biker. For example: no quick-release seat clamp, no sealed gear cables, bad geometry.

After 6 months, we had already gone through one bottom bracket, one head-set and two pedals. Then the chain-stay snapped clean in half. And this was only cross-country use by my 14 year-old son!

Bottom Line:
Seems like good value but: "Good components do not a bargain make". OK for posing around the park on - but spend another 300 quid and get a decent bike if you want to hit the trails. The geometry is twitchy and the frame is crap.

For me the Epic seemed to feel closest to a hardtail while still giving the comfort of full sus. I'm su ... Read More »
