Strengths:    Good set of headline components and a good price.

Weaknesses:    Not really designed by a mountain-biker. For example: no quick-release seat clamp, no sealed gear cables, bad geometry.

After 6 months, we had already gone through one bottom bracket, one head-set and two pedals. Then the chain-stay snapped clean in half. And this was only cross-country use by my 14 year-old son!

Bottom Line:
Seems like good value but: "Good components do not a bargain make". OK for posing around the park on - but spend another 300 quid and get a decent bike if you want to hit the trails. The geometry is twitchy and the frame is crap.

I realize the xl frame may be too large but I do have fairly long arms, at least I find that with shirts. I'd love t ... Read More »

Trek Superfly 9.6 2015 vs Specialized Stumpjumper HT Comp Carbon 2014 which one?

I'm new to mountain biking but live in a great area for trail riding straight from my door. I'm not going to be racing or doing jumps/tricks etc. I can get a deal tax free deal at work which significantly reduces the price of a bike. I want to get the most advanced I can afford so as not to have to ... Read More »

Replace Trek 9.6 superbly with Specialized stump jumper comp?

Hello I am relatively new to biking (last 6 months or so). I originally decided on a Trek 9.6 carbon Superfly which I purchased. However, assuming I can get a decent price for this through re-sale what would you guys think if I was to replace it with a specialised stump jumper comp. I won't go i ... Read More »

Rocky Mountain Altitude 750 (al) vs. Specialized Enduro Comp 650b

Any thoughts on these 2 bikes??? Both look like solid bikes but I'm unsure if there is a clear winner. I've checked out and rode both in person and have gone back and forth 100 times.Read More »
