Product Description
The Orange Crush is designed for the secret headbanger in all of us. It can be ridden to the edge and back, and it’ll always come back for more. The Crush’s secret ingredients are is its brand new super-rigid 6061-T6 Aluminium frame, and its hard-core trail geometry, allowing a 140 mm travel fork to get busy over the ripples and bumps, yet handle the big boulders on the most challenging trails.
Reassuringly constructed, the custom hydro-formed downtube, with its oversize flared top section makes full contact with the ring reinforced head-tube, resisting any unwanted flexing forces coming from the forks as they take the big hits. The new frame design features round section seat-stays which add comfort and take some of the trail ‘zing’ out of the ride, but always ensuring every ounce of energy you put through the cranks is transferred via the chunky 2.35" tyres into fast-forward motion.
With a superb cherry picked component spec rarely seen in a ‘standard’ package, the 2008 Crush is a bike that makes you realise what ‘it’ is all about.

from Midlands, UKDate Reviewed: February 4, 2010
Strengths: STRONG!!!
Will go anywhere you dare really.Weaknesses: A tiny bit more of room between the chain stays would have been better, as 2.4 tyres and front derailleur won't work well...Bottom Line: Had a lot of fun with it, and would recommand it to any downhiller/freerider who don't want to go back up the hill by foot.

Strengths: priceWeaknesses: The detail of the frameBottom Line: Cable routing is dreadfull, head tube is a good 15mm longer than needed putting more stress on head tube than necessary, bottle bosses on seat tube prevent seat from being lowered fully (bottle bosses on seat tube?).Welded joint around seat tube and seat tube cracks due to running "too much" seatpost (remove bosses and raise height of top tube junction Orange).Rides nice but to me it looks like a frame that Orange have spent no time developing.Sound familiar?

Strengths: Fox forks stand out and soak up anything I throw at them.
Feels unbreakable inspiring confidence(i have broken several bmx's)
Feels an easy pedal to me after 5o lb jump bikes on 20" wheels.
Powerfull brakes. Lovely mettalic orange paint.Weaknesses: limited scale of compression adjustment.
Ring to cut me in halfubbish paint on seat stem which wore through immediately and looks awfull on a brand new bike.
Rubbish pedals on mine and a seat which is trying to rip me a new un! though excellent quality.Bottom Line: Best bike i ever owned and a total blast to ride. Never been so happy since me quadangle! Now thats retro for ya and the best compliment i can come up with.

Strengths: Fox fork and the Hayes Stroker Disc BrakesWeaknesses: Quite heavy and slow on the flat sections, the sram rear mech have moved about a bit, quite a few timesBottom Line: Very happy with single track and downhill, although on the flat, I am getting left behind, whether this is because of the low amount of gears or the 2.35 tyres. But I am very happy with the majority of things on this bike. It looks the business, and for somebody who only goes out 1/2 times a week, mainly in the local pine woods, I couldnt really ask for much more for £1000.00. Orange Rocks!!!

Strengths: Solid as a rock. Confidence inspiring.Weaknesses: The rear end can leave you a little saddle sore after a long ride. Not a whippet up hills, but its not a pure XC machine, though their only minor grumbles.Bottom Line: I've had the bike a week and did 20(odd) miles on it today. So this is only a first impressions review. I own a 2007 bike. I brought it to replace my 2003 Giant AC bike as I wanted something more XC aimed.
The term "All Mountain" suits it fine. I went riding with a XC nut today and he left me behind on roads and uphills, but on rough ground and downhill I took the lead. This is where the Crush comes into its own.
The stock tyres arn't the fastest rolling tyres I've used. As I want to lean more in the XC direction I will be changing them soon. I'm 6'1"(ish) and brought the 19inch frame. It fits well enough, but the cockpit is a little tight, so a longer stem will solve this. But as with all new bikes it takes some time to get them setup how you like.
The fork can be a little pogo-stickish on climbs, but again on the downhill sections it comes into its own.

Strengths: Strong Orange frame with excellent geometry, gives you a solid ride with fantastic sense of control, agility comes as standard. The shape of the frame places the weight of the rider appropriately on the rear wheel giving consistant power delivery for those uphill slogs and downhill burns. Bike is kitted with very acceptable components designed for the more rigorous cross-country.Weaknesses: Some components fitted as standard carry unnecessary weight, e.g. Hayes discs. Truvativ Hussefelt handlebars are quite wide, reducing those already slim chances of making it through!!Bottom Line: I love this bike. The best i've ridden. Great for steep downhill (but with out drops), blinding on flat trails where reaction times are as important as speed, rolls up and over hills like a 4X4!!
I would recomend this bike to anyone. But be warned this a dedicated XC/All mountain bike. Thus it's a bit thicker to ride on road, swap over those Sun single-trak tyres for some of lighter tread and that should help, but this bike is definately only its true character when on unfriendly terrain.
