Strengths:    Great Handling, Looks very cool, light. Great frame warantee
I am 202lbs and broke my previous plastic frame.

Weaknesses:    none, paint job is too nice to take into the woods

Bottom Line:
Equals my two speed titanium bike (21.6lbs) and climbs actually better. Very agile, zero flex. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys long XC epic rides. Excellent workmanship and frame quality

Strengths:    GREAT CLIMBER, LIGHT STRONG FRAME, AWESOME PAINT JOB.....

Weaknesses:    BELOW AVERAGE (STOCK) COMPONENTS FOR A FRAME OF THIS CALIBER

Bottom Line:
THIS BIKE IS AN AWESOME CLIMBER, AGILE, GREAT CORNERING AND IS JUST RELENTLESS ON XC TRIALS JUST BEGGING FOR MORE. IN ANOTHER POST I HAD SINCE, AS SOME POEPLE WANT TO SAY, DOWN GRADED MY WHEELSET, I PREVIOUSLY HAD STANS ZTR RIMS W/ MANGO CK HUBS. I HAD AN OFFER FOR THEM THAT I COULD NOT REFUSE AND HAD SINCE HAD ANOTHER WHEELSET BUILT AT HALF THE PRICE AND TO BE HONEST WITH YOU, NEVER BEEN HAPPIER.I ALSO CONVERTED BACK TO HYDRAULIC BRAKES (MUCH BETTER HANDLING IN WET CONDITIONS) THIS IS BY FAR THE MOST RESPONSIVE BIKE I HAVE OWNED EVER.....IF YOU EVER HAVE THE FUNDAGE TO PURCHASE ONE, DO SO OR JUST PURCHASE THE FRAME AND BUILD IT TO YOUR OWN SPECS. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. RIDE ON....

Strengths:    Sfiff rear triangle contributes to very efficient climbs. It begs you to climb!
Very fast and agile! I love this bike on singletrack.
The 'Linear Black' paint job is beautiful! In the sun it has a greenish-purple tint. It's a somewhat conservative color for a Klein, however. Yes, I did shed a tear after my first scratch. I'm over that now. After all, it's a mountian bike! :-)

Weaknesses:    None really. The stock componentry is so-so. Again, as stated by others, you're buying a quality frame.

Bottom Line:
I came into the 2006 season with my aging, highly-modified Cannondale M700. I did a lot of test riding of Cannondales, Treks, and Fishers but was completely sold after riding a Klein. I use it for slick-tire commuting and hitting the local trails. Fortunately, my office has a store room for bringing it inside. I can't wait to race it in a few local events and in the '06 Chequamegon 40 in WI. If you're into hardtails, definitely give the Attitude a spin.

Strengths:    Frame really is a work of art. The paint...it pains me that it's on a mountain bike because it will be scratched. Climbs like a mountain goat, feels like a Ferrari (though you pay for it with a stiffer ride - it's always a compromise).

Weaknesses:    Too new to tell. Is a bit heavy, but when I trash the wheels that's what I'll upgrade - that always makes the biggest difference - don't waste money on anything else.

Bottom Line:
Don't see how you can beat it for the money. It was really a toss-up for full suspension vs. hardtail, but I really like the instant response and control - you toss it, it turns. Stomp on the pedals and it goes. The full suspension rigs are different - I may like them if I gave them the chance, but all the movement and noise of the suspension really distracted me - I think in a few years they'll be there.

Strengths:    Very light. Fast angles. Outstanding climber. Rear triangle very stiff - responds instantly to sprints. This bike loves single track - the more twisty the better. Swap out the Klein Death Grip tires if you are serious about hard cornering as they slip when the bike is banked hard. Absolutely built for speed!

Weaknesses:    A little loose (flexy) in the front end under technical decents but still handles decents extremely well- still much more stable than most bikes - more stable than Kona/ Scandium. Not as stiff in the front end as Kleins from the 90's. Stock bottom bracket and headset totally suck. They were both baked within 5 rides in wet conditions.

Bottom Line:
Very light and high quality frame for the price. Anyone can ride this bike, but a hard core X-country racer will love the instant but predictable turn in and good hook up on climbs. Ditch the stock BB and headset if you plan on riding in the wet slop. Ditch the stock tires if you fast twisty trails.

Strengths:    solid as a rock, versatile, lightweight, even the paint is cool but hey - its a Klein!

Weaknesses:    none...components could have been better for such a nice frame though.

Bottom Line:
This thing rocks. Forget about the G. Fisher you were looking at. Its really light and with some new better components it could be lighter. The components were the only setback on this bike but they arent bad at all. The frame is why i bought it though. Solid as a rock and goes exactly where u tell it to. Its very stable and just feels really comfortable and inspires confidence. Even the paint rocks. I dont do any 4ft drops with it but its not that type of bike. I do thrash the hell out of it though and it takes every beating i give. For the money this bike is badass and you cant beat the craftsmanship of the frame. I have some fat tires on it and it just sucks to the ground. It begs for any trail condition. Only other company that could rival Klein would be Specialized. You wont be dissapointed if your thinking of buying one.

Strengths:    Paint job is second to none, Stiffness, great climbing bike, brakes, light weight

Weaknesses:    Chain stay/Bottom bracket area does get scratched up. I had a Lizard Skin on there but it still was chewed up a little.

Bottom Line:
I love the bike, its fast, shifts on the fly, and looks great too. I am glad I did not by something else.

Strengths:    Climbing ability, stiff frame, paint job, disc brakes...This bike feels fast, super responsive

Weaknesses:    It's not about the bike, it's about the person. Depending on what kind of shape you're in, you can go home feeling a little banged up after an all day ride. The super stiff frame can get you up a hill like no other but it can also rattle the hell out of you on a long decent.

Bottom Line:
It's a KLEIN, you won't regret it!!!!

Strengths:    color, paint, weight, breaks

Weaknesses:    seat grips, bontrager components are heavy, no chainstay guard, and the hugh price for the components...eventhough i did pay for the weight...

Bottom Line:
this is the mercedes of mtn bikes...the detailed paintjob on this seriously belongs in a museum! the handling is fine, i havent broken into it yet. for a mercedes, it took a beating the 2nd day down a few flights of stairs. you think for spending over $1000, they would give you a better chain guard. NOT! therefore, i'm looking into a (http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/11169-075_LIZCS8-3-Parts-53-Chains-and-Tensioners/Lizard-Skins-Chain-Stay-Jumbo-offerIN040QB1.htm) lizzard skin. i visited one store and hopped onto the store owners' bike, and he bragged that his lasted 6 years...so to protect my paintjob, i guess that's the way to go.

Strengths:    lunar weight
agile/compact
the fork - when not defective - is outstanding

Weaknesses:    after a week of punishment-
the break-in period blessed me with
- creaky bottom bracket
- cable stretch
- and a pretzelized disc wheel
- all in all an excellent no-holds barred screamer

Bottom Line:
its a KLEIN.

in one week i feel more secure and boundless on the klein than i did after 6 months with the trek.

- make sure your duke shock holds air for more than 5 nanoseconds after you set it - i happened to get a defect with, to say the least, a slight leak.

Strengths:    Klein makes a fine aluminum hardtail. The fit & finish is exellent & its a lot of Bike for the money. The paint is very nice & the rider feel is terrific. This bike is really helps display a good mechanic/builders product.

Weaknesses:    As with most bikes, the protection around the chain stay area & bottom bracket/chain ring area could stand to have some better protection. You really hate to see a chain damage such a well finished frame. A few mre stock (non special order colors) would be nice.

Bottom Line:
I built this bike from a bare frame set supplied by Richards Bicycles.com. This is a nice handling machine & non of the Kleins I've worked with have present any frame problems. If you want value in a hard tail look at this frame. If you want the best combination of value, service & delivery, visit, call or see Mike Richards @ Richards Bicycle in Palos Hills, IL. These guys are the best & Klein should be very happy they are a dealer!

I recommend this frame highly, especially for a custom built hard tail.

Strengths:    erm... the frame kicks ass..
paint really good, relatively light

Weaknesses:    the saddle, and some other components, the sram cassette seems to be giving me alot of problems.. or is it the HG53 chain???

Bottom Line:
the hayes brakes use to work fine... but somehow the rear one seems to get weaker.. i have to pull the lever further back now. the seat totally sucks.. its starting to fall apart. i dripped WD40 on it and it burnt a hole.. and the hole is getting bigger. somehow i think there is a problem with my brakes.. maybe not done well or something i dun know. and i found a chip in my paint on the work K... =( was not used to the spd pedals then.. and are we suppose to get 04 duke XCs? cause i got 03 ones... the tires are ok.. but there wasn't much stopping force on gravel... i kept sliding forever. oh yeah changing the handle bar and stems too... i paid 2800 SGD for it.. but upgraded some stuff to XT so paid 3200SGD which is 2k USD. since the frame costs 1.65k in singapore anyway. everything rocks. but u got to change some of those parts.

Strengths:    Really stiff
Nice paint and welding
Solid feel
Good control

Weaknesses:    Bontrager components
Heavy

Bottom Line:
The bontrager stuff makes the bike quite heavy, im beggining to throw that stuff out. Watch out for the Hayes, i think ive got a smalll leak at the lever on my rear brake. I'll throw those out someday. The bontrager stuff weighs quite alot, the Klein could have been lighter if it used other brand's stuff, except that its part of Trek so that would probably never happen. Performance wise, the Klein is very good. Accelerates quite fast, very solid ride feel, a high quality frame. The bike could be quicker if Klein used its 2.1 Deathgrips instead of 2.35. The Deathgrips grip really well, except for the rolling resistance posed. I would rate this bike a 5 if it had used lighter components. The frame itself would be a 5 though.
