I brought it back for repair, the store blamed me, but repaired it. I have had the bike for over a year and a half, had to replace the whole drive train, and it still does not funtion. I have had my bike for 30 days. On day 27, the left pedal fell off without warning while going down a fast trail. The low quality nut broke and the head on the crank shaft got stripped down a bit. I returned to the bike shop to get it fixed. 3 days later, the pedal became loose and I had no tools. While walking my bike the pedal fell off while I wasn't looking... now it's lost!!!!!! The forks though, were horrible. I had manitou six sports stock on mine. The travel was *decent* but the adjustability and stiffness lacked quality. Although these forks are not an IHBC product, they should have been smart enough to put a little better fork, even if it raised the overall price slightly. My six bottomed out a few times on my first trail ride with them, so I immediately bought MX pro's and it solved the problem.
Also, dont leave your warrior outside for too long, the hardware rusts very easily, even though it is an easy replacement.
I was also slightly disappointed with the tire width on my comp, it is not 2.1" like the description says. My width well under 2" and it makes the front end seem a little less "beefy". This isnt a problem, although it is hard to find a beefy tire that is versatile with the rims.
Overall great bike for the price, -1 on the score for the forks. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

Great full deore components, a decent fork, and the thing that sold me were the disc brakes at this price range. Some say, discs at this price are garbage, but I have yet to see why. Amazing stopping power. The only thing with the disc brakes was that because only 1 pad could be adjusted, one of the pads dragged, but a little filing solves the trick. Only real problem i've been having is that the fork seems to drag oil up after a compression during the early break in period. The problem's subsided and disappeared for now. Other than, great, strong bike, suitable for any beginner-intermediate XC rider. I use it mostly for city, and a set of worn tires from an old bike make great city slicks for city riding too. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$535.00 | | Purchased At: | Berkshire Outfitters | | Strengths: | Mmm, disc brakes. Awesome frame w/bomber welds, 4" of play in the fork, easy to upgrade, big bang for the buck, handles well, inspires confidence. | | Weaknesses: | It's heavy. The fork is soft for climbing. | | Similar Products Used: | My old bike was a 1996 Trek 800 w/rockshox fork. | | Bike Setup: | 19.5" frame, all the off-the-shelf components from the manufacturer's website. | | Bottom Line: | I'm 6'1", 200lbs and very hard on my gear. I do a lot of bushwhacking to get to less-traveled trails. This bike is built to take a *serious* pounding, so if you're an aggressive intermediate rider who's got some meat on his/her bones and don't want to spend a fortune to get a solid ride, this bike is on the short list for you. Even the spokes are holding up very well for me so far. It's heavy, but I'm the kind of guy who doesn't mind some extra weight if it'll make the bike stronger. Good granny gear. Quality components for the money. It just feels great. If anything, consider putting a firmer fork on it, but the stock one works for me. I'm not a good climber, and with this bike I don't get smoked on the climbs as bad as I used to. This bike has it where it counts. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$510.00 | | Purchased At: | Sportcheck | | Strengths: | Price: paid $700Cdn - this is for the Comp not Warrior Disc which sold for $500 Cdn Quality components Nice balance | | Weaknesses: | Could use a lower gear for hill climbs | | Similar Products Used: | IronHorse Desperado | | Bike Setup: | Stock 17.5": Deore shifter, Deore Front/Rear Deraileurs, Hayes HMX-2 discs, Hayes brake levers, Manitou Sport Six, TruVativ Iso Flow | | Bottom Line: | Couldn't find anything less expensive with same components. Bike is very easy to balance. Easy to use even for XC trails.
I've been very happy with Iron Horse products. Great bike at a reasonable price.
This bike is ideal for beginners who enjoy a brisk intermediate or XC trail. This bike is NOT for hardcore downhillers or jumpers, or hardcore XC bikers.
The rating is based on expectations that this bike performs to it's design: Intermediate trails. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$449.00 | | Purchased At: | Performance Bikes | | Strengths: | Everything...Iron Horses uses the best parts for all thier bikes, how can you go wrong? | | Weaknesses: | Its not the best bike but you get what you pay for in MTBing. | | Bottom Line: | If I was building a custom bike, I would use the same parts as Iron Horse. All of thier parts are quality names like: Shimano, Hayes, TruVativ, WTB and more. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$430.00 | | Purchased At: | Performance | | Strengths: | Frame, brakes, Deore deraillers and shifters | | Weaknesses: | Tires!!!, Crankset, hubs, seatpost, pedals, fork, weight | | Similar Products Used: | Giant Iguana | | Bike Setup: | Stock but with Manitou Skareb fork, WTB LaserDisc hubs and Mavic rims, Bontrager Race seat post, Bontrager clipless pedals, WTB Velociraptor tires, LX crankset | | Bottom Line: | A good frame that is worth upgrading. Handles very well on the trails. As sold it is HEAVY. First and foremost, replace the tires. They claim to be WTB MotoRaptors but they are some kind of cheap OEM version of that tire and they weigh over two pounds each(!!!!). Next, get yourself a decent crankset -- like the LX which is very cheap these days... you'll knock another pound off that way. The seatpost on mine kept slipping until I replaced the collar with a quick release one. The seatpost itself is an odd, heavy size (30.4) but you can get a shim from Cane Creek for a few bucks and then pick up a decent, light seatpost on eBay for $20. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$500.00 | | Purchased At: | Epic Cycles, Black Mountain NC | | Strengths: | Price for the components. Deore and Disk Brakes on a $500 bike. Great flat black color. | | Weaknesses: | None yet. | | Similar Products Used: | This is my first bike purchase in almost 10 years. I tried a few bikes, liked the Trek and Gary Fisher models, but they were all $200 more for similar components (even more with disk brakes). | | Bike Setup: | I replaced the seat with my old WTB Speed V race, and the rear tire with a WTB Velociraptor. | | Bottom Line: | This is my first bike with suspension. I tried Trek, and Gary Fisher, but could not find the bike for the money that I did in the Iron Horse. It has gone everywhere I needed it to as far as XC riding. The dimensions are perfect for me, the handling is all there.
If you want a strong bike with nice components, buy an Iron Horse, you will not be disappointed. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
