Strengths:    Comfort. Strenght. Reliable. Looks

Weaknesses:    None....I use the bike to commute, tour, trek, recreational weekends - doesn't have fixtures to attach carriers. Therefore I have had to improvize - but doing fine on this

Bottom Line:
Wouldn't change for any other bike

Strengths:    Lightweight, Looks, Great ride/handling

Weaknesses:    Customer service, decals

Bottom Line:
The ride is great, and i've built the bike up pretty light which helps a lot. Stiff enough to hammer, but forgiving enough not to shake your arse to bits!
Dean customer service however is a different story, they said 6 weeks to deliver the bike which turned into 3.5 months and several "it's in the posts" when it obviously wasn't. A couple of other occasions ordering spares have been a similar story.
All in all a superb bike, but be prepared for a long wait and several piles of s't customer service.

Strengths:    Light, beautiful, good geometry, solid drive-train (monostay rear), very clean craftsmanship, shifts and climbs like a dream, just way fun to ride.

Weaknesses:    Flex shows up when bending hard rough curves. Lengthy wait from factory. No paint option. This is not an economy ride.

Bottom Line:
Scout frame is a deal for 900 at The Bike Co. For the build: 2100 plus wheels, shifters/brakes, headset, pedals & rear derailleur.
Phenomenal custom machine. Almost instantly riding at a new level. No regrets.

Strengths:    Inexpensive, great welds, light

Weaknesses:    The weakness is Dean's utter disregard for its customers and reluctance to be honest and forthright when communicating.

Bottom Line:
See my Colonel X-lite post for an explanation. For your sake, call some shops that have experience with Dean. As soon as I started having customer service problems with them, I called three shops who sell their products and asked them for advice. I found that my experience was not unique. I followed their advice and bought another frame.
