Date Reviewed: October 26, 2009
Favorite Trail:You Yangs
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $660.00
Purchased At:The net
Strengths:Rock solid, no flex in this frame. To me there is no better aluminium frame on the market.
Weaknesses:Harsh. Yes, I suppose you do feel every bump, but this is my 'race' bike. If I want to be comfy I will ride my Jamis Dragon.
Similar Products Used:My 9th hardtail (2 steel, 1 scandium, 6 alloy, 0 carbon)
Bike Setup:Sram XO, Sid Team, Olympic/Hope/Ralphs, XTR discs & cranks
Bottom Line:At nearly 1.7 kgs this is not the lightest alloy frame on the market, but most of the metal is in the key areas it should be. A super stiff & well thought out frame design. If you are a smaller lighter rider, you may wish to look at other lighter frames with a little more flex. But for the big guys out there, you will get maximum value for each pedal stroke. I normally try to upgrade about once a year - not this year though! This one can stay around for at least another 12 months.
