Duration Product Used:
2 Years
Price Paid:
$250.00
Strengths:
Good frame, good wheels (except for tyres)
Weaknesses:
Poor fork, low quality v-brakes and tyres very very heavy
Bike Setup:
Now replaced original fork (a Suntour XCT without lockout) with a RST GILA remote lockout, Promax V-brakes with Shimano Deore LX and seat with a Selle Italia Flite Titanium.
Bottom Line:
It's a good honest bike for the price, but as you become more agressive on trails I suggest replacing the fork with one that has a lockout and the brakes with more powerful ones.
The frame is an aluminium one, quite light for the price and it seems strong.
The crankset is a Detai, it's quite heavy (maybe replace with a Shimano LX if you can), front derailleur a Shimano C050, very basic but durable.
I made up to now 1300 km on this bike, and - for the price paid - it seems a good bike for beginners like me.
