Date Reviewed: October 10, 2007

Strengths:    Good bike at that price point at that time (1992 Vintage). Solid eduro / touring bike.

Weaknesses:    No drain holes to BB's at bottom of seat tubes. Can lead to accumulated condensation and weld failure. Funky brake setup. No factory support.

Bottom Line:
This bike cemented our marriage. We've done > 1000km road tours and the bike handled well carrying nearly 600 lbs of team and gear. It handled double track and modest single track as well as we could do on singles. The stock equipment was overwhelemed by serious trails but with small upgrades it fared better. The frame (steel) is flexible by modern standards. As a used bike it would be a good family tandem or starter tandem.

Dupont - Cedar Rock and Big Rock

Rode Dupont for the second time today and it was absolutely glorious out there. On my first ride, a few weeks ago, I didn't ride Cedar and Big Rock trails and was told those were pretty good. So we rode them today. A person at The Worlds Greatest Bike Shop (A.K.A. The Hub) told us the best direct ... Read More »

Tiger Enduro Hecklers Rock

Ok, so there's lots of rock up there, but not really "A" rock, regardless, we're going up to cheer and heckle the racers. We'll have music and costumes and cow-bells. Yea, you're thinkin' that sounds a little like cyclocross, not ENDURO[SUP]TM[/SUP]! Meh, we're h ... Read More »

Rock shox Sektor Solo air RL 2014: how to adjust compression?

Hi guys, I have this nice new fork, which I really appreciate for its stiffness. However, I wasn't able to adjust the compression. On the left side I have the knob that is used to blow air into the fork, and on the right side I have a blue knob that says "Lockout". If I turn it all the way clockwi ... Read More »
