Brodie 1-Ball Singlespeed

5/5 (1 Reviews)
MSRP : $1499.00

Product Description

The Brodie One Ball is one of those delightfully quirky numbers the product guy dreams up while he tries to come up with a social life. One speed, though a dropout is included if you want to BE JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE and run a derailleur and a cogset. Disc brakes and a suspended front end are tied together with a sweet riding aluminum frame, and that's it.

No gears or shifters to worry about, no cables to try and keep functional during the misery of the winter months. It's just you and the bike and whatever chainring and cog combo your barking mad psyche decides are appropriate. In the end it's about one gear and three speeds: Fast, slow and pushing. Are you up for it?

Strengths:    Components are bomb proof. Quick handling and super strong.

Weaknesses:    I can't think of any.

Bottom Line:
I love this bike. Keep in mind that I have a Ellsworth Dare. I have not ridden the Dare since I got this. $500 and in perfect condition, what a deal !!!!!! This has got to have been the buy of the century. The bike is FAST and handles very well, takes all the jumps without any problems.

Is there one that is better than the other? Was also looking at the Giant Trance, but I've ruled that one out. ... Read More »

The website doesn't have much information other than "Giant Alloy, double wall" Rim and "Giant Sport, 27.5 x 2.1" I cannot even find these ti ... Read More »

RockShox RS-1 on SW Epic

Sram XX cassette + WTC 40T sram ring + 1-Up Components Rad Cage + 2 x 10

I am going to try this. Where I ride and my my 235 geared up clyde body necessitate a 2x up front. I do not want to part with my gloriously light XX rear cassette for an XTR. Been thinking about this a lot so I figured I would bite the bullet and see how it performs. I tried a search and haven't ... Read More »

Brady's Run, PA from Sept. 1

Here's some video from Brady's Run park in PA, shot September 1, 2014. Video was just uploaded today, but 1080 should be available by now. Video was shot on my spiffy new GoPro 3 Black, 1080 wide 60 fps. Pretty sure it gets dumbed down a bit when you upload it to youtube b/c the raw foota ... Read More »
