Strengths: Light with XT drivetrain!! My son had an older one that was recently stolen, we broke down and bought a new one for my daughter. If you want the kids to actually ride mountain trails, it seems unfair to ask an 80lb kid to ride a 40lb bike that doesn't even shift or brake well - this bike is smooth, light and both kids immediately recognized the weight difference. See a bunch of these on Utah trails. Full range of low gearing, unlike most other Jr bikes allows kids to slow down and just pedal up steep stuff.Weaknesses: Price - keep it locked and/or put away at all times! Shouldn't be used as a bike to to ride to friend's house and left on front lawn.Bottom Line: If you live around and plan on biking actual mountain trails, this is a great bike for kids - the weight Maybe buy a garage sale special for general use and reserve this for specific rides.
