Strengths: A Proper Mountain Bike for a childWeaknesses: Gone through 3 Derailers,(Stock Derailer is hopeless)Bottom Line: This is a great bike,it is a little go-er.I have had it for 4+ years plus know and I Have thrown it down stairs(when I was angry) and it has put up with rainy season of Walgett(Outback NSW). The frame is very strong and sturdy for the amount of money I got it for. The only down-side to it was the amount of derailers I have been through,I guess it isn't the bikes fault it is more the manufacturers of the derailer. I have now upgraded to Sram SX4 which is working a treat and i hope will for a while.

Strengths: This Mongoose Rockadile is a very good bike for kids who like to do easy trails and a lot of road. It has good gear shifters good rear derealier and front, nice grips on the handlebars nice 2.10 tyres that come with it, Strong FrameWeaknesses: This product also has some weaknesses that should be considered if you are doing harder trails. Fork only about 20mm travell, brakes are crap, pedals are plastic, rear cassete fell of the back of my bike when I was riding, Very HeavyBottom Line: This bike is a very good bike for kids who like to do very easy trails and a lot of road i have been doing a lot of egressive trails and have only found some weakness has a very strong frame asweel

Strengths: It was one of the few "real" mountainbikes available for kids- very few in Aus with triple chainrings. Has not broken anything in 18months of riding.Weaknesses: Weight kids bikes always seem to be very heavy- I guess it's due to lower spec on parts
Grip shift - Al of 24" bikes that I saw when looking had grip shift - he'll get used to that and then change over to rapifire and start learning all againBottom Line: This is a reasonable bike that I bought my son when he turned 7. He is tall so managed to skip from 16' straight to 24". Have done quite a few reasonable trails in the time since. Godd for boys at this age point although i don't know how long it will last once he gets a bit more agressive in his riding
