He jumps up to two foot high jumps, does some small drops, and rides over logs up to eight inches in diameter. Weight is reasonable. Bike has held up well except for the factory deraileur, which is made mainly of plastic. Chain kept jumping off, and plastic stops broke from landing jumps. Upgraded deraileur to Acera, and bike has worked like a charm since. Would like to see lower gearing (36 tooth chainring instead of 40 tooth). Overall, nice bike. Light <26lbs alloy frame. 65mm fork. | | Weaknesses: | None yet. | | Similar Products Used: | Tested other 20" models from Trek (heavy), Kona (frame too big), Haro (light - 2nd choice), Specialized (a little to much $). | | Bike Setup: | 6-speed gripshift, 7005 frame, 65mm Mozo fork, alloy v-brakes, riser bar, front fender, no kickstand :) | | Bottom Line: | Great 1st MTB, not too heavy like previous dept. store "anvil". A kid shouldn't have to ride something that weighs almost the same as the rider (daddy doesn't ride a 125lb bike, so why should I ride a 38 pounder?.
