Strengths:    Rides smooth, manuals like a unicycle, looks pimp, over built, its a tomac!

Weaknesses:    If you want to run a chain device its got to be iscg.

Bottom Line:
If you can find a cheap one buy it! Recomended retail price in 2004 in the uk was around $1000 4 frame alone which would have been a rip off!!!! But this bike has took more crap than all my ex girlfriends and still comes back for more. It will do it all and laugh at you for not being half the man this bike is! It screams 2 me when I look at it "Take me out and abuse me! You no you want too!!"

Strengths:    very sturdy and versatile frame, have had basically no problems with it, and have put it through some abuse, also pretty cool looking

Weaknesses:    the wheel popped out of the dropout once because it was loose and because i wrecked it hard sideways on the rear wheel. I got a great deal on the frame used, not sure it's worth msrp.

Bottom Line:
good for urban assault, good at the jumps, good for singletrack or all mountain. Whenever i go out i usually grab this bike. I think the retail price is a bit steep.

An omen of good things to come

I've had an image in my mind that’s been following me around for several month or years. Its ever presence alters my perception of time. Its appearance changes but the fundamental idea has always been solid. My wife was not as susceptible as I was, infiltrating her mind took weeks, months, and ye ... Read More »

I think it's an omen...

Last ride, I went OTB on my Mary and landed partially on my head. No major damage other than a stiff neck for the rest of the ride. Didn't even crack the helmet. Last night, I'm dreaming about reaching over the bars to get a dangling box hanging from a cord to shift gears. I grab the box and h ... Read More »

I bought a Norco Rival which they call an adventure/xc bike (i call it a freeride hartail) which I plan on converting to SS. What kind of omen does an Owl represent?

The last couple rides at the local trails have been kinda weird. I see deer, turkeys, rabbits, snakes, etc. , but lately I've seen this owl on the past 4 rides. Every time I see it I see the thing at least 3 times during the ride. He just flys across or down the trail for a bit then chills on a ... Read More »
