Date Reviewed: January 21, 2009
Favorite Trail:Ravenshoe
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $1200.00
Purchased At:Spoke O' Motion
Strengths:Rides smooth, great brakes.
Weaknesses:The rims are horrible, ive had to get my back rim trewed 3 times. I need to buy a new rim this year. I'd rather it come in single speed.
Similar Products Used:Norco 250
Bike Setup:All stock
Bottom Line:This is a great bike, however to make it better Norco should make it single speed, and get some better rims on the thing. Its not even possible to do flat 180's on! Otherwise, i love the bike, it fits my urban street riding with my dirt jumps needs all in one.

Date Reviewed: June 12, 2005
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $750.00
Purchased At:Darlings Island
Strengths:Its a good bike for street/djing and light freeride. The frame is very strong and the cranks are mint. At first i didnt like the bar/stem, but now i think its one of the better things on the bike.
Weaknesses:Fork is weak as all get out, headset is crap and should be changed asap, brakes arent the best but are ok. also, the hubs should be changed out asap as well.
Similar Products Used:2002 and 2003 Norco 125, Devinci Hucker, Kona Stuff, 2001 Specialized p.3
Bike Setup:Stock except for a rear 24" dx32 and hayes MX 1 disc brake. Hopefully new fork, headset and front 24" wheel to come soon.
Bottom Line:Great for the amount of money you spend, i think you would be better off either upgrading the fork before leaving the shop, or spending the extra money and getting a 125. But, overall it is a great bike and if not abused will last a long time.

10/10 for the frame i might add

Favorite Trail:anything
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $150.00
Purchased At:pinkbike
Strengths:i only have a ryde frame, i upgraded everything else. the frame is very strong. ive hit some big stuff on the frame and not so much as a graon from it. ive hit some 10 fotters to flat and the frame is still up and running perfectly!
Weaknesses:there arn't any guides for hydro hoses and it could realy use a clearcoat, it would help with scratches and suff like that. and i dont think that it needs a bmx botom braket iether, cus if you want to use a mtb crankset then you have to get adapter cups for 30 bux canadian.
Similar Products Used:specialized p1, norco torent, rokey mountan flow 2.0
Bike Setup:marzocchi dj1, azonic outlaw hoop laced to formula hub (qr20) norco ryde frame, soon to be raceface prodigy cranks, raceface atlas seatpost, soon to be rear sun big fat mammoth wheel. shimano disc breaks (awsome breaks) and some nice aluminum bars.
Bottom Line:this frame is one beefey as$ frame! it can take anything that you though at it and still ask for more! some of the components that come stock on the bike realy suck though, so it would probly be a better deal if you where just in need of a new frame and you could find one used somwheres.
(im only gana rate the frame)

Strengths:The Strengths I found In the norco Ryde was it's tilted frame, and how it was quite light in weight, instead of having disc brakes it had V's which I prefer.
Weaknesses:I found the product a bit unsterdiy at times and unbalenced. The clerance on the suspion could have been a bit more to give a easier ride

Date Reviewed: July 3, 2004
Favorite Trail:Sherbrooke National Park
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $640.00
Purchased At:Ferntreegully Cycles
Strengths:Great all rounder bike for the beginner to intermediate rider. Unbreakable frame. Strong bars, rims and stem. the gears change well and the brakes have great feel and stopping power.
Weaknesses:Forks don't work all that well unless they are well lubed up. Brake lever doesn't always come back in straight away. it is quite a heavy bike because of all the gussets and reinforcements on it to make it stronger.
Similar Products Used:Kona Stuff, Avanti Manic,
Bike Setup:I put on a front Kenda Bluegroove 2.35" DH tyre, Lizard Skins grips, Funn Fatboy Slim bars and Funn Serial Rippa Stem.
Bottom Line:This bike is super strong. i have jumped 14 stairs and done numerous drops and the rims haven't buckled. it is good value as it's a Norco and it is very reliable. if your new into dirtjumping, downhill or freeride, this is the right bike and it won't break the bank.

Date Reviewed: May 3, 2004
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $629.00
Purchased At:Silent Sports
Strengths:Solid Frame, excellent drivetrain, Good dirt jump fork, rims staying true.
Weaknesses:V-brakes squeak when the slightest bit of dirt is on rim, grips blister without gloves on.
Similar Products Used:Kona Stuff, Norco 125, Banshee morphine
Bottom Line:I have never ridden such a solid bike for this price. I recommend it to the begginer dirt jumper and freerider. This frame can take a serious beating and will last a while. Agood buy if your short on cash.

Submitted by Jamez Sclum a Weekend Warrior from tasmania
Date Reviewed: March 30, 2004
Favorite Trail:any dirt jumps
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $800.00
Purchased At:geards cycles
Strengths:bike feels really good in air and just in general, good travel on front, good wide handlebars and tough rims
Weaknesses:forks, when i first bought them they were really stiff and pretty much did nothing, but i found that spraying some silicon spray on them worked a treat and they now feel as good as more expensive shocks. Tyres arent the best, there real skinny and were rooted by 2 or so monthes
Similar Products Used:kona stuff
Bottom Line:a good bike for the price you pay, wouldnt knock bak a set of disk brakes though as braking isnt outstanding. i would recommend this to anyone who wants to jump or drop off things.

Date Reviewed: February 11, 2004
Favorite Trail:Bayview arena jumps
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $899.00
Purchased At:Silant Sports
Strengths:Very good Geometry, nice travel in the front, big fat tires good for climbing over pretty much anything
Weaknesses:Heavy, wider the nessisary cross bar, norco grips cause blisters w/ barehands, tires warped quickly, location of housing for rear derailer allows water to enter then freeze thus making rear derailer unusable until thawed out.
Similar Products Used:norco one25, Kona STuff
Bottom Line:Great bike for the price you pay, just wish i had gotten disc breaks. I mostly use it for Dirt jumping, and some downhill, it handles drops very well, have not had any frame issues at all.

i paid 899.00 Canadian + taxes.
