Favorite Trail:the sidewalk
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $800.00
Purchased At:friend
Strengths:looks, strength, stiffness, chainstay length
Weaknesses:tire clearance, but the frame is pre-2.5 Muddy Mary days
Similar Products Used:Ellsworth Specialist
Bike Setup:THE TANK
Marzocchi DJ1 2003 (switching soon)
Truv Holzfeller Bar & Stem 2009
Truv Holzfeller OCT Crank & Howitzer BB
E.13 LG1 Chainguide
Shimano DX Pedals
SRAM X.9 Shifter and RD
Hope Mono V2 Brakes (moto-worthy, but switching soon)
Race Face XY Post w/ SDG Ti Fly Saddle
Sun Ringle Doubletracks (switching to Mavic Crsmx SX 2007)
Bottom Line:This setup turns this bike into a freight train, but it's still nimble enough to carve trails. I bought it kitted out for DJ, but I'm lightening the build to race DS next season. This frame is a legend, will never part with it. Have heard horror stories of BB shell separation when the frame is used for unintended purposes but this thing is stiiiiiiff.

Date Reviewed: December 31, 2006
Favorite Trail:any
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $600.00
Purchased At:Revolution Bicycle Repair(arcata california)
Strengths:Stiff as a mother. Sprints like its on crack.
Weaknesses:not as light as I would like. frame is about 6 pounds. I wish they could have taken some material out to make it around 5 pounds but the extra pound makes it stiff in the headtube and bb area

Bike Setup:Pike SL fork, King headset,Azonic shorty stem(60mm)Azonic CF-1 handlebar, X7 shifter,Xo rear der,Hope mini brakes(160mm and 140mm) Flite saddle, thompson seatpost,Northshore cranks(175mm), Real Chainring(36tooth) E-13 chainguide) shimano 545 pedals, Deemax wheels(silver and yellow(light light light)
Bottom Line:The only two week things on this frame is the weight of the frame and the cost(1000 retail) if you can buy one used or through a shop trying to get rid of one then get it. You will not be sorry if you do, if you are looking for a bike thats designed for gate racing then this is it

Submitted by Geordy a Weekend Warrior from Bothell, WA
Date Reviewed: July 1, 2004
Favorite Trail:St. Edwards Park
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $1650.00
Purchased At:eBay
Strengths:The geometry of this frame is the best I've ever rode. The frame tracks awesome. It's light weight (relatively) & burley.
Weaknesses:Maybe the price if you pay retail. It's a shorter frame which isn't a weakness for me but could be for some.
Similar Products Used:Specialized P2, Intense Uzzi
Bike Setup:Manitou Black Comp, FSA Pig headset, Avid mechanical 6" disc brakes, XTR rear derailer, LX front derailer, hugi hubs, some various specialized enduro parts.
Bottom Line:I couldn't be happier with the frame. I don't know why more people don't post a review. The price is for the complete bike by the way. Also, mine is a 2003 but I don't think there's any differences. Then again, there's not much info out there on this awesome bike. I'm somewhere just above a beginner but below intermediate so I don't have the skills to take this frame to it's limits but I think I would break long before the bike would. I've only taken it for one ride so far so maybe I'll post another review in a few months after some good drops. This bike is is MUCH more fun than the Uzzi ever was.
