Strengths:    Frame is bomb proof. Sun singletrack wheels immense .

Weaknesses:    Stock suspension bit iffy and a few tacky bits

Bottom Line:
Iv had my 2004 big hit 10 years now and the frame is still solid no dints or rattles. The manitou spv shock was ok but a bit twitchy and the dj2 fork was a bad idea tbh but it's taken everything I have thrown at it. Iv got an orange sub 5 and its no comparison. It was worth every penny. The fsr rear end is stiff and smooth. Recommend upgrading to a heavy duty air shock. Iv got a evolver isx 6 spv on mine and its plush. Also a fork upgrade too but despite some little niggly things it's my all time fav bike wouldnt sell it it's priceless to me .

Strengths:    Bombproof frame, geometry, Sun Rhyno Lite rims, never oldish design

Weaknesses:    Bar, stem, rear hub, cranks, pedals.

Bottom Line:
My bike is now 10 years old. I was riding it harsh I can say. There was need to replace the most of the parts, but the frame is bombproof, design is still attractive and the paint is still in good condition. FSR rear system is still one of the best solutions. Its still stiff with original bearings. I can ride along guys with fancy DH bikes.
For mine opinion this is one of the best bikes ever made.

Strengths:    plushest 6.3" of rear travel anywhere (I have the rad red 2003 model). Pedals efficiently. Built for abuse! I've had this beast for 6 yrs now on original bearings and there's no play & stiff as you like!

Weaknesses:    truvativ bb i've had to replace a couple times.

Bottom Line:
This is a follow up from my previous post.

This bike is my all time fave out of all the bikes i've ridden or owned. I recently acquired the EG and built it for lighter duty 30 mile epic rides but this thing still outperforms the EG in every aspect except sheer weight. Climbing tech sections, all kind of descending, stutter bumps, stability off jumps, hucks, drops or anything! The EG was a bit of a disappointment despite its supposed excellency in the "one bike" fold. On long climbs though, the 5 lb difference is easily felt!

I did rave about the EG in the review I posted because its superior qualities to the noodly dwlink MKIII and poorly designed Enduro 130's fsr rear.

Might seem strange that I swapped the rear. People are usually surprised it fits. It barely does with a Singletrack rim and 2.1 irc tire. Seems chinsy but between the bike's rear plushness and my handling skills, I can get away with a lot!

You might think the Van r rear coil is inadequate but I believe at the end of the day that a good suspension design is more important.

This bike was great for whistler even with this setup!

I love this bike's versatility, efficiency, and durability! I'll keep this until for life at this rate!
I gave this a 5 and 5 a few years ago in my previous post. I'd give it higher if possible now because it's still the best All-Rounder I've ever had! I probably have way more to say about this but I always forget.

7x7Flamin'Chili's!

Grab one if you can!

Strengths:    First i love the bike really great bike. Frame, and rims, and the stock seat

Weaknesses:    I would have to say the hayes 9 brakes are a little bit cheazy, But if you are going to get this bike you are going to eventually want to put better suspension which i did

Bottom Line:
If you are the type of person who does a lot of dirt jumps on a hard tail and is looking to get a little more serious with your riding this is the bike for you. I love this bike I take it up to mammoth all the time for some down hill and freeride and i do 20 ft downhill gaps and 6 ft drops and it holds up and i still haven't bent the stock rims. I went from doing some stuff on a hard tail that now I look back and say wt the hell was I doing and now with the big hit its perfect. The call it the big hit for a reason

Strengths:    Very Solid bike for downhill and freeride. 24" rear wheel is great for manuels, drops and getting through berms fast. Handles amazingly well in the air, still haven't crashed on a drop or dirt jump! Specialized strength and quality. Also, stock shock is great, with air and rebound adjustment along with 12 possible suspension combinations.

Weaknesses:    Heavy frame, but not that hard to pedal around if you have two chain rings (included in stock)

Bottom Line:
Awesome bike! I bought it used for $700 3 months ago and I haven't had a problem. Amazing at freeride and great at downhill. Not a world cup DH racer, but I plan on racing it.

Strengths:    great beafy frame, amazing rear suspention (fox vanilla's) that can handle pretty much anything, i got bomber junior T's and they fit the bike perfectly. ive gone off everything i have seen so far and is till got no problems.

Weaknesses:    Very heavy frame, hard for riding around in becasue the shocks absorb everything.

Bottom Line:
this bike is amazing if you are the kind of biker that goes off of anything you see and going off drops is a peace of cake on this bike.

Weaknesses:    just the dirt jumper forks...they are good if your not doing rocky trail ridding they are good with the drops but not with the trail sorry

Bottom Line:
it'a an awesome bike...you need skill to ride it probably you also need a fair bit of strength to ride it at its full capability...i did a 16 footer on to flat ground factured my ankle didn't fall off just when i got off the bike i couldn't stand up...the bike was perfect not a broken or damaged part in sight... well done specialized you have done it again

Strengths:    the frame is a beast and most all other parts on this bike are decent, takes hits well and the 12 different shock positions make it perfect for anyone. Manuals and wheelies like a dream.

Weaknesses:    the dirt jumper would be good for a hard tail and the rims are junk.

Bottom Line:
I really like it it is my first full suspension bike and can handle everything that I throw at it. Whole bike is really sturdy from the components to the frame.

Strengths:    this is a really beefy bike. the rear shock obsorbs everything but the fork doest.

Weaknesses:    the fork isnt good so im putting my white bros inverted double crown on it so if u get this bike change the fork to something good and durable for downhill.

Bottom Line:
bottom line this is a really nice bike for the money but a couple things can be changed 1st the fork and second the rear shock (you might want to get a 600 pound spring but depends on ur weight.
but this bike kicks ass especially if u are a bigginer to downhill
