Strengths: smooth ride. sram drivetrain.Weaknesses: hayes sole brakes. skinny tires. stupid I-Beam saddle/post. heavy wheelset. wish it came in something other than white.Bottom Line: This is for a 2006 Fluid 2. Once you get the thing dialed it is awesome. I don't know many people who are satisfied with a bike stock out of the box. This is my first full suspension mt. bike so I don't have a lot to compare it to, but I have been riding for almost 15 years and my riding jumped this summer with this bike. It is a bit heavy but that does kind of inspire a little confidence, I don't ever feel like I have to back off. I have been downhilling on it a few times this summer and although it's definitly not a downhill bike it took on about 90% of the hill and felt totally solid, which was better than I expected. I give it a 4 for value because I had change some parts, but a 5 overall because it once it's personalized the ride is sweet.

Bike Setup: I replaced the bar with an azonic, just personal preference. I replaced the Brakes with Shimanos, the stock Hayes S.U.C.K. I put Bontrager Earl 2.4 tires on it. Next change will be a fox fork and maybe a coil shock. No complaints about the Marzocchi except the weight.

Strengths: this bike is a tank, it takes anything. bottomless is a good word.Weaknesses: the rims are a BIATCH to change tires. the bars are kinda in your way when you try to bail out. rear rime/tire hard to take off even wiht skewers. the front brake shimms against the disk under impacts. the front brake lever adjuster bolt keeps undoing itself even wiht locktiteBottom Line: the fromt brake lever/hangar wasnt working for me, oh ya, and the chain broke the first ride out on an xc trail , but that cud just be the tards who tried to build the bike. i havent taken this bike over any drops, besindes this 3 foot to flat landing, i ahve the skill to do the drops (im almost pro), but after reading the first review, im goign to go outside right now and hit this 16 footer that i take my specialized demo 9 over. this bike i samazing for trials, or any other style of riding. i dont know where the reviewer doug lapalsky bought his bike, or who he learned to ride from, or how much he had to drink or smoke, but this bike can wiht stand the drop he was referring to, its about how you land, not if it can take the impact. i bent my demo 9 rim, bunny hopping and doing a 180, its about the tortion actring upon the rim. if you break it down into simple science, doug lapalsky probably wiehgs too much, or he landed crooked, or he just sucks at riding. but i trhink this bike is amazing, and if you want a good ride, then i suggest it. pce ride it likeyou stole it
