Strengths:    built for the toughest of users, geometry, versatility; trail to race to dirt jumper in minutes.

Weaknesses:    frame weight, only one us dealer so it takes a while to get your dream machine.

Bottom Line:
the bike is solid. only flaw is frame weight, but you can build around that......try one out or look them up. there are now four nicolai bike in my group of riders and no one is dissapointed... if your a racer and want to trail ride your dual slalom or mtn cross bike w/o ruining it. this is your bike.

Strengths:    stiff as hell, rear travel feels bottomless... feels like more than the actual travel.... have not bottomed out yet and i'm 95kgs!!! custom build improves yr riding almost immediately fits like a glove.. the feel is awesome... it's a hardtail when you want it to be and a freerider when you want as well... quality of build is excellent... i am using the 02 model and it still kicks ass in 05!!!!

Weaknesses:    none that i can think of....

Bottom Line:
it takes a while to get it but the wait is worth it...
tailored to yr needs... u improve yr riding almost immediately

I've always been a Nicolai fan myself, but could never afford their prices. My question is this: Will I be able to turn the UFO DS into a mini DH bik ... Read More »

Spam: Ufo-ds

I apologize for the spam but since Nicolai's are so rare I figured no one would mind if I pointed out that my personal UFO-DS is up for grabs. This is for the frame and '07 DHX-Air only. The frame has the 1.5 HT, ISCG tabs, and 12 mm Maxle option. It's in killer shape. I've only had it for about ... Read More »

I saw that the travel is adjustable 3.4 -> 4.5" but am unsure how this is accomplished. The three eyelets on the seatstay of the rear triangle are my only guess. Which give ... Read More »
