Strengths: Price (good components and travel for the money), bombproof and reliable, good descender.Weaknesses: A little heavy at 32 lbs but comparable to most AM bikes with similar components. Slow to start. Had the same derailler problem when new but had it resolved and has not given any problems in more than 6-8 months.Bottom Line: This bike rocks for the money! With good components and travel and a pretty stiff frame. I would NOT consider it a freeride bike but more of an All Mountain rig.
It corners well with the 2.3's and descends even better. The suspension is on the stiffer side, not very plush but it also keeps it from bobbing much on the climbs.
It is not a fast starter but for the money you are getting a nice all around bike.

Weaknesses: FrameBottom Line: K2 (East Coast Bike Supply) does not stand behind their product. They will not warranty their bikes. I had the 2007 K2 Lithium 5.75 for 2 years and 1 month. It had never had a drop bigger than 1-2 feet. 90% on road and the down tube cracked. Nice bike until it broke and then K2 told me too bad. $51 a month for bike that is not ridden hard seems kind of expensive. Look for a different bike company.

Strengths: wicked awesome tires, sturdy frame, adjustable suspension and derailleurs.Weaknesses: although the derailleurs are easily adjustable, they seem to need adjusting about every 2 rides. its kind of annoying. it weighs around 34 Lb, so watch out you weight-weenies.Bottom Line: The only downside to this bike is the derailleurs, because I've run into numerous problems. The first day I had it, the cables for the rear one completely exploded out of the cable housing. Then, the chain gets a lot of suckage going from 2nd to 1st in the front chain rings. If everything is adjusted properly, the shifts are crisp and quick. The suspension is awesome. damping adjustment is cool. tires are wicked for climbing, have slight rolling resistance but whatev. they are bad for mud, great in dry weather. overall, for 2 years warranty and 1k$, a steal-of-a-deal.
