Strengths:    Cheap, being in the biz only paid $350 for 2003 frame, shock and headset from K2 back in 2004.

Weaknesses:    Shock leaked in 6" travel, took 275psi to suspend 200 pound rider in 300psi max shock.bearing decentigrated after 300 miles of good offroad.

Bottom Line:
You get what you pay for,K2 needs to stick with snowsports and leave the metal works to others.

Strengths:    it has good shocks and suspension. but the brakes are not top of the line. if not kept oiled and tuned up it can lag on speed and ability.

Weaknesses:    the brakes tend to not work as well under extreme conditions
this bike is heavier than most people would like.

Bottom Line:
this bike is an aweosome bike but it is not top notch. it is mainly for fun, it is usually not seen in races.

Strengths:    very versitle bike!!!!! I ride parks, dirt jumps, race 4X's, race tame DH's, ride burly DH trails, and XC with it. Put 2.5"s on it, hit up the 6" travel, and you can race it on tame DH's. put 220PSI and 2.0"s on and hit the BMX track or dirt jumps. I race it 4X, then change the suspension and head for the DH course. It's a great all round bike.

Weaknesses:    the small rocking links seem whimpy, but so far so good. they're hard to find and I dont think K2 makes them still.

Bottom Line:
It's a good bike for everything, but not a great bike for one thing. I got this free as a replacement for my Brass Monkey frame (lucky me!!!) before they hit the market. I've been POUNDING it from day one and it never missed a beat. It wont be competitive at a National Pro 4X or DH level, but neither are you.

Strengths:    Very aggressive geometry makes drops, rolls and jumps seem effortless. Ability to adjust to 4", 5" or 6" inches of rear as well as its realative light weight (compared to other FR and DH set ups) make this bike a great choice for all mountain riding. On this bike, I can just as comfortabley ride with my spandex clad xc cronies as i can with the more aggresive trail and downhill riders.

Weaknesses:    Typical complaints that come with Hayes HFX9 brakes. A more burly set up should be spec'ed out for this bike.

Bottom Line:
Unless your type of riding includes extremely sick drops, jumps or stunts or grueling endurance XC type riding this bike is for you. A great all mountain bike for those who dont want to be limited to one type of riding.
