The O2 is the lightest linkage frame on the market. If you are a cross country rider and occasional racer who doesn't want a lot of weight in order to have the benefits of a linkage design, this is it. The O2 offers 3.1" of wheel travel with the super light Fox Air Float R-C keeping the suspension stiction free and adjustable. We use Easton Elite tubing on the top and down tubes, and custom drawn seat tube and stays for maximum rigidity and low weight. The O2 is very light, yet it offers enough travel to satisfy most riders. It will make the epic days and long climbs less painful and the O2 has been a hit with the high mileage addicts. By design it leans toward the Stinger side of the family, giving a crisp responsive ride.

Bottom Line:
Three years ago, I broke my back in a motorcycle accident and was told that I would be unable to ever ride a mountain bike due to the pounding that my lower back would receive. The Turner O2 has changed all of that! I have always been a fan of singletrack and extended fire road climbs and the O2 allows me to climb in comfort and surprising speed too! Descending is dream and my back feels great with no lingering soreness either.

Strengths: Smooth, tight, and nimble. Almost floats up hills. Craftsmanship is superb. Focus on customer service is spectacular.
Weaknesses: well, i guess the pivot points can be hard to get to to lube.
Bottom Line:
Unbelievably multi-talented bike. Going up, regardless of technical nature of the trails, the pivot system absorbs and smooths out the impacts. Going down, frame feels laterally tight and fast.
I needed the hand holding thing when I tried to pick out the proper size of frame. Their patience with this high-maintenance customer was truly phenomenal.
And let's face it, it's way more fun to hand pick all the components yourself. Don't look at the price. Just find a way to get it. Not once while riding will you think "Wow this cost $2k." You'll be having to much fun with the bike to ever care.

Strengths: The 02 is light and nimble. It climbs exceptionally well. It's very stable at speed and does everything it was designed to do and much, much more. I entended this bike to be my XC "race" bike. It handles so well, I find myself riding it everywhere.
Weaknesses: None period.
Bottom Line:
I bought the last O2 built. Dave Turner stopped O2 production to begin focusing on the new 2003 models. He happened to have one remaining BB and a few other necessary O2 parts, so he was kind enough to build one last O2 for me. I wanted the finest XC race bike built and I have to say this is it. I've reluctantly allowed a few friends to throw a leg over it and after a short ride, they are really depressed that they are no longer available. I don't need to repeat what the other reviews say but, I must mention that it is hard to believe how stable this bike is at speed. The Turner O2 is right at home riding trails where other XC bikes are walked. I love this bike.

I spared no expence on building this beauty.They say the motor is 80% of the bike,I disagree.This is all that I could imagine in a bike and it has helped my skill level immensely.The geometery fits me like a glove.(They talked me out of the smaller frame)I've been on this bike now for over a year so I think I know it well enough now.One suggestion is to go with a little more travel in the front.They suggest that you keep them the same (front and rear shock travel),but I've found it to be much better with a litle more travel in the front.I went with the new Talas(2003) and this has made the perfect bike.Mine is a little heavy compared to others I've seen,but I'm very happy with the set up and wouldn't change it.My bike weighs in at 25 and 1/2 pounds with the discs.I've seen a couple others built down to 23,but didn't care for the componet selection.The bike is stiff,but not harsh.And with the right componet selection this is without a doubt, the best frame in XC mountain biking.Expensive yes,but you can't put a price on the fun you'll have with this baby.

Buy this bike if you want to smooth off the edges of all but the biggest of hits. This is a cross-country machine. Want one of the best bikes ever built? This is it! Want a little more travel? Get the Turner XCE! I owned an XCE too but I chose the O2 because it suit my riding style.

The frame geometry feels like a custom build. It fits me perfectly. The bike feels super solid on rough technical stuff. Coming off a single pivot design, the Turner rear suspension is absolutely devine! Tracks well going both up or down... No more brake jack! I love the fact that the frame doesn't make any strange noises. Compared to my Superlight the bike does feel heavy, but in general the overall feel is very quick and responsive.

The bike is awesome. Definitely, serious riders should consider purchasing one. If you do a couple of races per year and enjoy the climbs as much the decents, then it doesn't get any better than the Turner O2. The O2 and my build out lean toward the lighter side of full suspension (could easily be another half pound lighter but wanted a good mix between light and trail tough plus I still needed to keep some cash to put food in the 'frig'), and is the perfect rig for fast cross country trail riding and the occasional race. On the downhills, the bike holds the lines very well, is unbelieveably stable, and you can really lean the high g force turns. I ride mostly dry, rocky singletrack and fast fireroads...not a lot of NW rainforests - so I can't attest to the bike handling in Vancouver conditions. Although, I haven't had the bike very long, I have done enought riding to feel the difference. On the very steep and technical climbs, the bike seems only a little better, but when I get to the top I'm not as sapped and it is very easy to flix the bike over an obstacle. On the smooth long climbs (fireroads) this bike is a bullet, and have mercy on anyone in front of me 'cause I'm gonna reel them in. Same with the flats-very fast. On trails with rock garden sections the bike just seems to roll right through it and stays upright. I had never ridden King hubs before and they are killer. They hook up immediately and the bike justs takes off as soon as you crank the pedals. Same high marks for the AVID Ti brakes-work beautifully and the levers roll buttery smooth. Both front and rear have lock out and, so far, I have only used the lock out on the streets to get to the trail head. So I have no remarks on trail riding improvement/detriment on the lock out feature. I purchased my bike at Bike Tech and Jeff the owner worked with me on the specs, riding style, weight and his input was helpful -great job on building the wheels. Chuck at Turner was supercool answering my questions and even received an email from THE Turner himself....THAT is customer service. Do yourself a favor: Go out and ride as many bikes as possible and then try the O2-you will be a beleiver.

Bike weighes 24.5 lbs. fully loaded. Awesome ride and climbs like you can't believe. I was sure that some of the comments that I heard wouldn't be true but this bike is incredible. When going uphill and in the middle and small ring, there is no bobing of anykind. It took over 4 months to get one, but the wait is worth it. Chuck, who in charge of building the bikes is one of the most awesome people to work with and is reason enough to buy the bike. Awesome product and anybody who enjoys precision products should buy one.

Strengths: Design and Craftsmanship and David Turner. If you're not quite sure what rig to buy, start calling the companies in question, I'm sure you'll be impressed with Dave. Only the "in" crowd knows what you've got. It rides great too.
Weaknesses: Small company (a product strength) means that it takes a while to get one. It is worth the wait.
Bottom Line:
This rig is a couple of pounds heavier than my Ti HT, but the HT is for sale. It is no less nimble, mucho goatlike, and now I can attack the DH's with a more confidence and less bone rattling. I really like having the rear end stay planted on fast twisty track.
There's just aren't many products at this level where you can deal directly with the head of the company. And he's a hard core rider too, so he knows what you're talking about.
I'm considering an XCE for a backup and a for heavier DH, but it really ain't necessary. I bought this bike after much research and am still impressed with my decision.
And custom colors are available, but it will add to delivery time.

Strengths: This bike does everything well! Its a light weight, top quaility frame w/no compromises.
Weaknesses: It may take awhile to get one(but well worth the wait!) & the stickers are coming up a little.
Bottom Line:
This is a serious off-road tool! Climbs like a billy goat: if you can find the power this bike can find the traction. Slices the single track: its quick handling, easy to swing & very neutral (no need for extreme weight shifts). Descends like a banshee: rock drops, roots, what ever, just point & shoot. The frame is very high quality w/fat clean beads, great attention to details, light weight & the travel is smooth. It is very stiff(the top tube is the same as the down tube on the 21 only) w/no play at all in the pivots. You can shoulder it, Dave will give you any info you want & grease ports. I cant say enought about it, if you buy this frame you will not look back.

If you are wondering about full suspension; does it climb well? Is it light? Do you loose power pedaling? Can you sprint? Blah, blah, blah... It does it all GREAT! It even climbs BETTER that a hard tail. It comes with a lock out shock, but once you find out how well the bike works you wont need that at all.

Love the bike. It weighs a true 25.5 lbs as listed includeing H2O cages, etc... I guess w/ SID and lighter tires and maybe Gripshift I could have been under 25lbs. Frame 21, weighed 5.8 lbs. I have a Truth also and it is 2 lbs heavier w/ similar componets. I like the O2 much better from a suspension standpoint. Bottom line buy one if you can afford it and can wait.

Simply amazing. The quality of the craftmanship is unequaled. This bike does everything well. It climbs as well, if not better than, my hardtail! No bob in the suspension at all - even on pavement. Point and shoot steering. Incrediblly stiff frame. I could go on and on....this is just the best lightweight full-suspension XC frameset availible!

Strengths: The deimensions are spot on. It rides wonderfully without any flex in the rear. It is the lightest full suspension bike I have ridden. The Fox air shock works very well so far. I am suprised. I cannot tell of any pogoing in the rear suspension when I am hammering out of the saddle or riding up hill.
Weaknesses: Dave is a slow as Molases in the middle of winter running up hill. When you order your bike, add at least one month to however long he said it will take for you to recieve it. It's worth the wait though. I have never owned a bike that had no weakness until now other than the speed of the frame builder.
Bottom Line:
The price of this frame is steep, but it works flawlessly. The craftsmanship is top notch. I keep telling my wife this is the last bike I will own. That was three bikes ago. If I do own another one it will be becasue Dave had some new revelation on how to imporve the O2. I seriosly believe this is one of the finest if not the dinest light weigth cross country bike on the market today. I say this not just because I own one, however, I smile at the though of owning one though. It's also nice to see other bikers droole when they inspect the bike and then see the look of disbelief on their faces when they heft it especially with real world, durable no fluff reliable parts.
Favorite Trail: Santaquin Canyon, I would tell you where it is but then it wouldn't be a secret anymore. I rarely see anyone else. I saw two six point bull Elk on my last ride. (within 100 yards) Spectacular!!

Girvin Mag-Ti clipless pedals, Continential tires at 630g /530g a pop. Even at that my bike still weighs under 24 pounds and that is for an 18 frameset.

Strengths: Turner finally has a XC frame that’s light and has enough travel for me. It has proven classic Turner suspension, no bull shit, no fashion statement, no marketing ploy, just good for an all around wide range of riding. Construction is superb and the Fox air vanilla shock is definitely a step above the rest. My 15.5” frame came in at 5.4 pounds and the bike is 23.6, exactly like the BC USA build sheet said.
Weaknesses: Turner ain’t fast. If you want a frame out of their build cycle you may have to wait. I ordered my O2 in December and got it in May. I still think it’s worth the wait but be patient
Bottom Line:
This is a great bike for all around mountain biking. It does everything good. It won’t hold you back in any respect except hard core downhilling and I‘m not about to push a bike up hill
Similar Products Used: I test rode a Ventana, GT I drive, and a Stinger. I actually liked the Marble Peak suspension but the bike was built on the heavy side. The Stinger was light but I wanted more travel. I did get one for my wife though and she loves it.
