Strengths: Light, Stong, AluminumWeaknesses: Heavy Standard Shock, Aluminum!Bottom Line: This bike can withstand the test of time. I raced it for about 3 years, and out ran many a screaming caddy and now, I've been using it for trials riding for about 3 years. Love this bike. The only problem I've had, is that because of the aluminum, the rear deralier ripped out once, and I almost had to replace the entire frame, however, the wonderful guys at Trek took by bike back, and fixed it at no charge. Would have been nice to have break-away mainstays...but they fixed it.
I've riden all types of other aluminum bikes, and I've found there to be a lot of shimmy-ing and frame weakening in VERY bad parts of the bike. Mostly I've found this with Cannondales...however, even w/ my trials riding, I haven't found this on my bike.
I HIGH recommend this bike, however, anyone who does get it, rip off the Rockshox Mag 5 (It's just painted silver w/ Trek labels on it) and put on a lighter fork....it makes the bike much better balanced.
