from Fremont, CA, USA Date Reviewed: September 23, 2001 | | Favorite Trail: | Demonstration Forest, Aptos | | Duration Product Used: | 2 Years | | Purchased At: | Sea Otter Classic | | Strengths: | Beefy, steep head tube angle, very short rear triangle. | | Weaknesses: | Can't handle big tires in the rear and the distance between the top tube hydraulic line ferrals is a bit too much. | | Similar Products Used: | Another bike shop employee. | | Bike Setup: | Z2 Bam, 50mm RaceFace (RF) stem, XY RF seatpost, RF Northshore cranks, Philwood BB, Mavic 321's with a Chris King DiscoTech in the front and XT in the rear, Hayes hydraulics, Azonic double wide bar, Azonic fatboy pedals, AC sport chainguide, XT rear derailer and shift pod, and a King headset. | | Bottom Line: | Every part was hand picked for this bike and I can't complain. This is one of the quickest dual slalom bikes I've ever tried. In short- just a twitchy ride that likes to be abused...plus the dealer never billed my credit card (oops...) | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$533.00 | | Purchased At: | Isle of Man | | Strengths: | Light, Ultimately strong, replacable stickers, long toptube, 1 inch and a half thick snake stays. angled headtube. massive downtube. Disc Mount and hydraulic cable bosses. its a dirt jumping beast. | | Weaknesses: | low bottom bracket, stickers are paper on navy blue frame. Seat tube is a little long above top tube. Will Run IRC Kujos 2.3, but not factory DH 2.3s. | | Similar Products Used: | kona roast | | Bike Setup: | d521 on hope bulbs, deore, Z1CR's. No front Brake! | | Bottom Line: | This frame is awesome. Massivly fat tubes, stickers are a bit papery but replaceable. Rigid and strong, angled headtube is great, improves steering on longer travel forks. Wont hold triple clamps for long and they also void your 1 year warranty. Works Great if your an urban speed monster, not bad for trials, but dont try anything too big. good offroad performance, small frames mean that you can manouvre around fast. Downtube collects too much mud, theres also a little pocket above bottom bracket, seems to like collecting mud. Hydraulic bosses as well as cable. Paint finish is neat and joins in tubes are neat. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$4000.00 | | Purchased At: | Off a mate, from Recycle | | Strengths: | Nice angles, replaceable mech hanger, disc brake mounts, sweet and neat welding, nice colour, set up can change from a sweet bsx bike to a 25lb-er XC bike with a new wheel set and tyres. | | Weaknesses: | The stickers flake if washed, the rear end will not fit a 2.2" tyre with out problems. It would of helped if Recycle could put the stickers on straight. | | Similar Products Used: | I work in a bike shop, nuff said | | Bike Setup: | Mavic 321's, Hope CL2 + por leavers, Race Face cranks, seat post and headset, sweet saddle, bike worth over £2200. | | Bottom Line: | Sweet bike, go out and buy one, the only real problem is the paint and stickers which the paint can be re-painted and the stickers can be bought for £12. No problems. If you love jumping and XC then go buy it with two sets of wheels, it kicks ass | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$399.00 | | Purchased At: | Recycle | | Strengths: | Light, strong. long top tube for plenty of room unlike many 'dual' frames which are too cramped, disc compatible including guides, stiff when you need it and good handling at speed. | | Weaknesses: | Paint chips real easy. Nowhere near enough mud room for riding in the UK. A little on the expensive side for a frame that only has a on eyear warranty. | | Similar Products Used: | Santa Cruz Chameleon, GT Zaskar Le, Kona Chute | | Bike Setup: | Z1 BAM's,Full XTR, Answer pro tapers, Kore stem, WTB saddle and Aheadset, Continental vertical pro tyres (these rule!) | | Bottom Line: | Fantastic jump, dual and playbike frame with very beefy chainstays. Only bad things are lack of mud clearance, short warranty, and easily chipped paintwork. Nice and light for this type of frame as well. If you want to race dual or go jumping definitely consider it but if you wreck lots of frames consider something in steel or an Orange Patriot, and something with a longer warranty one year just doesn't inspire confidence in an alu frame. If you aren't all that tall i.e. up to 5'10' max it also makes a fantastic, lightweight, sweet handling trail bike. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$400.00 | | Purchased At: | Recycle | | Strengths: | It's light, strong with little flexing. | | Weaknesses: | The paint chips very easily. | | Similar Products Used: | Mates Spooky Metalhead.99 Kona Cindercone. | | Bike Setup: | Z1's,Mavic 121's on XT hubs,North Shore cranks,DX flat pedals. | | Bottom Line: | It's light and responsive,I used to have Z2 bams fitted which made for very exiting handleing. This bike is no Spooky but for half the price it's the bollox.I'd recommend this frame to any body who spends as much time in the air as on the ground.( NO LYCRA WEARERS ). | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

| | Bike Setup: | XT/XTR Marzocci Z3 Flylight 100 Mavic D521 HOPE O2 | | Bottom Line: | A good strong frame which will take alot of pounding. It is very light which means it can be built up as a trials frame, but if you want a trials frame go for the Rocket pro trials. It is a fab dual slalom & jump bike. The frame is designed to fit 100 to 110mm forks so it won't feel like you're stretching your arms into the sky. It could also come with more choice of frame sizes. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from England Date Reviewed: November 24, 1999 | | Duration Product Used: | 3 months | | Bottom Line: | The mutt's nuts. this bike will take anything you chuck at it. anyone who breaks one is either a lard arsed trials rider who specialises in 20 foot drop offs ( coz the rocket is not designed for trials) or someone who rides very very very very very hard. The handling is responsive & the geometry is designed for a long travel fork up front, which makes this the ideal bike for trail riding/ jumping/ dual & play riding. Will outlast bigger name frames (read DS1) | Overall Rating: |

They have very nice handling and offer lots of clerance and a comfortable riding experience, BUY ONE NOW.... | Overall Rating: |
