Very comfortable ... even all day long. Gorgeous fillet brazing & custom built prestige. Very wide choice of well finished colours to choose from. A real joy to ride. | | Weaknesses: | A tad squirrelly on very fast down hills !! Poorly designed cable guides below bottom bracket become mudded or dusted up causing the gear change to be slow(down tube cable routing) & intergrated seat post clamp ( had mine cut off & fitted seperate clamp when it was resprayed) | | Bike Setup: | Pace pro class (70mm set up), Hope pro Disc (front), Magura (rear), Royce TI B/B, Middleburn RS3 (TA rings), Chris King headset, Carbon monkey light riser xc bars, Pace stem, Hope suspension & TI glide hubs, X Lite seat post, WTB saddle, Ritchey spds, smoke lite rear & Mythos kevlar front tyres. | | Bottom Line: | If you want a classy, fast, rewarding, involving hard tail xc ...don't look any further. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

I've had this frame for a number of years now and ridden it virtually every day whether commuting to work, riding trails on the North Downs or touring across sand deserts in Iceland- which just about sums it up; it's a bike for all seasons. This is probably due to the fact that a handbuilt custom frame is extremely comfortable and can be ridden for hours on end without the rider ever feeling tired. I think this is absolutely crucial in a bike and far more important than low weight or all-singing, all-dancing spangly alloy bits and bobs.There's nothing more visually appealing than a fillet-brazed bike. Those flowing line really get me going! However, I can't really say there's anything wrong with TIG, but if I'm going to have something handbuilt, it's got to be a bit special.I do think that if you're a very or small like myself, the custom approach is a good way to go. If you're average height, perhaps it's a bit of an extravagance.
I certainly would never want to buy another bike ever again...and I would never give it anything less than 5 stars considering the money I paid for it. | | Overall Rating: |
