Submitted by Rudy Santos a Racer from San Antonio, Texas, USA
Date Reviewed: March 1, 2003
Favorite Trail:Anywhere dry
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Strengths:Light. Painted the color that I wanted. Steel. Ritchey dropouts are way cool.
Weaknesses:Ritchey dropouts just barely fit my Cycleops trainer. 1" headtube.
Similar Products Used:None.
Bike Setup:XT hubs, Caramba Double barrel cranks, XT BB, Marzocchi Bomber fork, Salsa stem, Gripshift Attack shifters, Avid Arch Rival brakes, Salsa seatpost, Selle Italia Prolink Saddle.
Bottom Line:Even though it has a 1" headtube, it fits me like a glove. I'll just have to keep rebuilding that fork as long as I have the bike, or go to a rigid fork.

Submitted by Marc Roth a Weekend Warrior from San Diego, CA, USA
Date Reviewed: November 20, 2002
Favorite Trail:secret spot
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $700.00
Purchased At:ebay
Strengths:Lightweight; strong
Weaknesses:none really-still trying to get used to the yellow paint....
Similar Products Used:Trek 7000, Merlin XC
Bike Setup:Chris King Ti Headset; Titec Ti stem; Koski Ti Bars; all XTR comps.; Rock Shox SID; Ritchey WCS Crankset; Sun Ringle ZuZu pedals; Mavic X517's; Nuke-proof Superfly hubs; Salsa Ti Skewers; Thomson Elite Setback post; WTB Laser V Ti saddle....
Bottom Line:Very happy with the bike so far. Great for all around/slightly aggressive rides. I'll need a full-suspension for steep drops, though. I learned the hard way. The bike handles very well, is strong and light. Worth every penny.
