$99.00
Purchased At:
nashbar.com
Strengths:
Cheap, well made, all the stuff you want, even a disk tab. The decals are not put on so you can leave it Plain Jane
Weaknesses:
not the lightest thing out there, but what do you expect for a hundred bucks. Only comes in black. Rear brake cable routing has to be in housing the whole way.
Similar Products Used:
Trek Aluminum MTB, Jamis dakota
Bike Setup:
mix-n-match of parts I laying around, mostly Deore off another bike
Bottom Line:
This is a perfect replacement frame if you kill yours. Handles pretty nice with a 80mm fork. Plenty of tire clearance for a hardtail. Welds were surprisingly good and it built up easy, all the faces were right and the BB was chased already so I didn't have to fork out more $$ for frame prep. I think later I will set it up for single speeding.
Only comes in one color, so stay away if you are looking to turn heads at the trails.
The rear brake cable routing has to stay in the housing so it does not look the best.
5 chillis for value and price
4 overall for the lack of color choice and cable routing.
