Strengths: Stablity, quickness, compliance, paint job, customer service (IF is the business model all other companies should emmulate), build quality...don't have enough time to go on and on.Weaknesses: Can't ride it as much as I would like (due to extensive work travel)Bottom Line: While I was in college I raced mountain (Fat Chance Wicked)and 'cross and this bike is the tits! It rode beautifully the whole season and then kick some more ass during the road season...That's right! Throw on some slicks and this bike becomes a kickass road bike...I love my IF bike and everything about IF...I wish I could work there, but bike companies don't pay enough...Long live the Chris Chance legacy.

Bottom Line:
This bike is without a doubt the most capable 'cross machiine out there. It is fast on the pavement, supple throught the dirt and easy to portage due to its classic frame design and light weight. The sealed frameset is also an idea that makes one wonder why didn't I think of that. This bike is not just a mountaiin bike with 700c wheels. It is a cyclocross bike in the european tradition. The boys and girls at IF have really created a masterpiece with the planet x. I raced mine all season this year and sinnce I bought it I've had little time for any of my other bikes. (now if I could just master those bunnyhops like that crazy Belgian kid Nijs.) If you need a cross bike this one is worth it. Strong, light and fast. The only thing worng with this bike is the paint job. It took me about a week to get up the guts to really ride the bike in its elemant. I mean would you run through mud and ice with the Mona Lisa between your legs? (ah that came out wrong but I think you get the point,) All in all, perfection on tubulars, the only bike you will ever need, the only bike you should ever want. I never thought my Alan would be discarded, but it has been. IF, thank you for making the perfect bike.
