a Cross Country Rider
from Massachusetts Date Reviewed: February 24, 2000 | | Duration Product Used: | 3 months | | Strengths: | Weight, supple for Al, good handling | | Weaknesses: | none that I have found yet | | Bike Setup: | Ultegra, Kestrel EMS fork, Speedplays, Axial Pros | | Bottom Line: | The Ellsworth Flight is a pleasure to ride. It is a pretty smooth ride, and is not an aluminum girder. It corners like an animal, and handles pretty well in other situations. My other ride is a steel HT, so the Flight is a refreshing change of place. Refreshing as in fast as heck! The Axials make me feel like there is no resistance from the road (23 mm), and my legs are connected to the ground. I've ridden a porker of a steel road bike before, and it was pretty heavy. Every stroke of the pedal I could feel accelerating the bike. Not with the Flight. It disappears under me. Awesome. It beats the other scandium frames in price, and is just as light. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

a Downhiller
from cypress ca Date Reviewed: July 23, 1999 | | Favorite Trail: | brianhead ut | | Duration Product Used: | 1 Year | | Strengths: | OS Aluminum frame that rides like a good steel frame. Weighs only 2.2 lbs. Not a NOODLE at this weight, still stiff in bottom bracket. This is a road bike so I am not sure why it's here | | Weaknesses: | Cost and avaliblity, hard to get, Ellsworth only make one batch per year. Only comes in 3 sizes, like a mountain bike. | | Similar Products Used: | GT Edge Ti, Klein Quantum, Masi, Lightspeed | | Bike Setup: | Dura Ace, Kestrial EMS fork | | Bottom Line: | The best road bike I have ever owned. I cannot belive the light weight and smooth resillent, steel-like ride. Rides like steel. | Overall Rating: |
