It's a pretty sweet XC bike. Very light. It's somewhat unique, however, in that it's clearly a XC bike, based on its handling and riding position, but it's got more rear travel than your typical XC racer (3.5") and it's designed for a fairly long travel fork, about 90-100mm. The XVert Super works very nicely on it. I thought the rear suspension worked very well - nice and plush while still being efficient. It seemed to have a fairly straight rate, even with an air shock in the back. Two main reasons I didn't get one, though: 1) I thought it bobbed two much when getting out of the saddle, and because of the XC handling, getting out of the saddle was necessary at times; 2) Long wheelbase - I didn't think this hurt the singletrack handling any, but I definitely felt it on the climbs, when the front end would lift up some.
So do I recommend this bike? Yes. But it's definitely a XC bike and not a trail bike (which is what I wound up getting). I'd be hesitant to recommend it as a racer, though, so it's got a funny niche. For a XC rider who wants XC handling on a longer-travel machine.

Z-1 Xfly, Sram 7.0 with full XTR. | | Bottom Line: | I have been riding this bike for a month. It's not as fast hadeling as the Dean Duke but it's far from slow. The frame is definetly much more solid than Duke and Mojo SXC. It's about par with Motolite for my riding style. The rear shock design works fine for me on climbing. I've a small frame it's about 5lb which is very light for a FS frame. I like the fram a lot it's worth trying. | | Overall Rating: |

It was black, built well, had a nice polished aluminum rocker arm... but I did not enjoy the ride. This style of bike is a little too active for my tastes, but the main problem was the slow singletrack handling. I am a singletrack snob, so if it doesn't slice and dice on the singletrack it is useless to me. I guess I prefer a firmer suspension feel with more hardtrail like handling. | Overall Rating: |
