Favorite Trail:kielder resevoir
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Price Paid: $1000.00
Purchased At:hardcore mountain bike store-edmonton
Strengths:This frame is super strong, resilient ride, just like a good Ti frame but not a flexi,
Weaknesses:Not the lightest frame available, under 4 lbs
Similar Products Used:Kona HEI-HEI ti frame & Kona explosif steel frame
Bottom Line:Ifyou want a frame for life, that rides like Ti go for this frame.
if you are a x-country rider looking for a good supple / resilient comfy frame then this is for you.

Date Reviewed: February 10, 2000
Duration Product Used:6 months
Strengths:This bike is very strong and is not as whippy as Ti. If you like steel you will love Aeromet.
Bottom Line:I am selling a DEAN aeromet frame. Size is 20.5 in. 350.00 or offer. This frame is light, strong, and RARE! Some scratches. Email for more info. Comes with DEAN post and stem and a BB.

Submitted by RTH a Cross-Country Rider from Edmonton
Date Reviewed: June 10, 1999
Duration Product Used:
6 months
Strengths:
Extremely strong.
Resilient like steel.
Very light
Weaknesses:
Very hard to find an aermet frame because the material is so difficult to work with in the manufacturing process.
Similar Products Used:
All those big tube, bone-jarring aluminum frames.
Bike Setup:
XT drivetrain.
Ti bar.
Race Face stem and headset.
Ti Saddle.
Manitou SX-R.
Bottom Line:This is a discontinued frame. Aermet is a material developed for manufacture of jet fighter landing gear. It is the strongest metal going, bar none. Aermet is much stronger than steel, aluminum, carbon fiber or titanium. Yet it is resilient like titanium, corrosion proof and as light as Ti. Translation -- this frame has excellent weight characteristics, a supple ride, is very light, and is virtually indestructible. It is a frame for a lifetime.
Overall Rating:5
