Strengths:    The Conejo AP/5-AT is the best frame I've ever found. I've road it hard on all of the nastiness that the great State of Arizonia has to offer for over two years now. From light XC trails to the vicious Downhill runs on South Mountain with glee. The frames main strength is its incredible versatility with it's multi-ajustable rear end travel. You can set it up at 4.5, 5.5, 6.5 and 7.5 inchs! I run it in the first three settings sinse I put a 5 inch Z1-CR single crown up front. With a quick shock bolt mount adjustment to the rear swing arm, the bike can do any trail that you want to ride, and still climb great too! Not many other bike frames can really do that... or do it as well. I first built it up as a lighter 25 LB all around XC and tough trail bike. I'm now using it as my hardcore 28+ LB Freeride and death trail, monster bike. The frame-set can really do it all! The craftsmanship and CNC'ed machine work is seconed to none at any price range! Stiff and SUPER STRONG 6061 tubes that are heat treated to T6! With lots of sweet dependable single pivot rear end travel. The perfect frame choice for the intermediate trail rider to the technically advanced multi-trails and coditions bike rider, that still wants to use the same bike for an all day epic rides into the vast wilderness and return to. The best of both worlds!
PS. If all you want is a lighter XC-FS trail bike and you like to use the XC forks? Go with the AP/5 Classic it only has 4.5 inchs of travel but it makes an awesome XC bike.

Weaknesses:    It's made at one of the best industrial/aerospace machine shops in Southern California. They make evry part for the hand made frames in house. It takes a little longer then our Instant Gratification Needs can stand at times... But it's worth it!
Just who's weakness is that anyway?

Bottom Line:
How many other Bike frames whould you give such a POSITIVE review on after TWO YEARS OF HARD RIDING? Enough Said!
Flip, out.

Im runing a 2.7 Maxxis Mobster up front and a 2.3 Panaracer Fire DH Pro in the rear right now. I can run a 2.7 Mobster in the rear too. Strengths:    Great frame design. New company owners (an industrial/aerospace machine shop) as of three years ago. Old frame sets made from Easton tubing had failures. New company frame sets made from Alcoa 6061 rip!

Weaknesses:    The original Conejo had there frame sets farmed out for production. These were made with taper wall Easton tubing. The failure rate was terrible. The company was sold and the new owners brought all production in house, including all machined parts as well. I do know that they have tried to help those people with the old frame sets that had problems.

Bottom Line:
Excellent bike for the money. A go anywhere, do anything bike. Bomb down the local down-hill or take it x-country. High quality and value built by the company themselves. New owners don't just make the product, they ride the bikes as well. Conejo Bikes Unlimited Inc. revamped material and production, all prodution done in-house. Bikes are hand crafted in Anahiem, Califonia. Conejo builds for other bike manufactures as well as for Conejo. Old company burnt a few bridges while the new company is rebuilding them again. Just think that the other brand bike that you are riding probably has a part that was made by Conejo on it.
