Duration Product Used:
1 Year
Price Paid:
$2300.00
Purchased At:
manufacturer
Strengths:
light weight 4.9 lbs.great climber(like a goat)just enough travel to handle rough landings.it's a back saver on epics or if you played contact sports for 20 years.
Weaknesses:
a bit slow on delivery(6 months).1 more inch of travel and i coulda been a contenda.
Similar Products Used:
proflex 855 w/ods and speedsprings.5 years used @25 lbs.
Bike Setup:
starship w/custom paintjob,00'sid xc,raceface lp w/rings,xtr brakes and drivetrain,xtr rearw/217's ringle front,syncros ti seatpost,raceface system,conti xc 1.9 foldbl.
Bottom Line:
i have been riding this bike for exactly 1 year.having a bad back was a big concern 4 me .this is just plush enough for me and tricking it down to 24.5 lbs certainly helps on long saddle days.i don't have the time to race but this bike inspires me each time i get on.i run a 22/32/44 front mated with an 11/34 rear and i climb easier and in more control than i ever did before.this bike tracks great on all terrain and makes you confident in or out of saddle.i recommend an air fork up front to go with the risse air rear.the single pivot operates smooth, no multi links means cheap maintenance.stiff rear w/buku tire clearance for mud.

Bottom Line:
WOW! a review of the Starship -thought I better put my thoughts down too. This is one hell of a bike. It only has 3" of travel, but it is good quality travel that is usable. Blows away all other bikes i've ridden, and can out climb my HT too (zaskar le). Only gripe was how long it took to get from time of ordering. Get one if you can!
