The bike is awsome and will trigger immediate bike envy from all that set their eyes on it. the componenetry is first rate, as are the suspension, handling, and stopping capabilities. | | Weaknesses: | Aside from an E-thirteen pully wheel on the bash guard that had to be replaced, the bike has no weaknesses. | | Similar Products Used: | This bike is a downhill machine. It is an insult for MTBR.com to classify it as a free-ride bike. Other similar downhill products are made by Intense, Iron Horse, Cannondale, GT, Turner, etc. | | Bike Setup: | The Bike came stock with: a Manitou Travis Dual Crown front fork, a Revox rear shock with titanium spring, Bontragger king Earl components, and a Sram X-O shifting system. All the components are high end and work flawlessly. | | Bottom Line: | Unlike many that review a bike after one ride, I have been riding this bike for months now, and have found it to be flawless. The ten inches of rear travel is endless, enabling you to sky off almost any obstacle and float back to earth without recoil or jarring impacts. The handling is super stiff, and tracks perfectly on any chosen line enabling you to negotiate trails and obstacles that will leave riders of other bikes bloodied and bruised.
The bike looks incredible and is made in the USA with great attention to detail. Unlike other bikes that have flimsy light weight linkage systems that crack, and bushings that wear out, the burly Trek suspension system soak up the bumps, doesn't pogo under pedalling, has no lateral flex, and takes the punnishment without breaking or developing play.
Trek definitely hit a home run with this downhill bike. It is ideal whether you are racing or gravity riding, and will leave you with incredible memories of your last ride, and dreaming about your next one. | | Value Rating:Overall Rating: |

I wanted a DH bike for fun and thought I was in good enough shape to ride this on most of my XC trails as well as DH runs. This is a great peddler but still not a climbing bike at all.
I have only done a few downhill runs on it so far and it is awesome, I can rail this thing compared to my AM bike. lower CoG makes a huge difference. The weight and robustness of this bike eliminates the fear of crashing. Multiple 1-2ft drops in a row are like nothing at 20mph. Since there is a chain guide on the front it is nice and quiet with no chain slapping all around on bumpy terrain.
I havent figured out how to hop or wheelie very well with the thing yet which are skills i use all the time downhilling with the AM bike. Anyway this is a fun bike. | | Value Rating:Overall Rating: |

If you are looking the ultimate bike in preformence and willing to pay for it,i would serious recommend this bike for you.

Alot of that has to do with the Ti Sprung Intrinsic rear shock which tends to ride higher in its travel then all the other competetion. As a result of the shock/CTE combo this bike climbs like an XC bike and has amazed everyone whos riden it. Demo one and try cranking it on a hill and you see what i mean. As I bought the bike as a frame and built it up i wont review any of the other components but as the frame is conserned it is one of the fastest DH bikes ever made on the downhills. And is the best pedaling long travel bike you will ever ride with no exception. If you can afford it then i highly recomend it. Its got a wery nice ballance with most of the frame weigth arround the bottom and middle of the bike and on top of that the ligthest DHwheelset on the market gives it a good ballance and speed out of corners.
