Submitted by Josh a Downhiller from Queensland Australia

    Date Reviewed: December 21, 2011

Strengths:    Really is a do it all trail bike. You can comfortably and easily pedal it up any hill flick the switch and bomb down most downhill runs or technical single track. The real strength is in how well it does both with very little compromise on either. I think it would make a great training bike for a would be downhiller.

Weaknesses:    It is not a downhill bike, it is not a cross country bike. You will find bikes better suited to either but probably not both. You will find may better race bikes for either discipline. It would have been nice to see the remote lever for the dropper seat post on the bike however at $50 odd dollars it is not the end of the world.

    Bottom Line:
Really fun bike hard to fault. I was reading about on the Internet for the 6 or so months before it arrived here in Australia and brought it the day it arrived in the shop in January. I do not regret this. :) I wish I could but can't compare it to the Claymore but I believe theat there are a few $$$ between them too.

If you like downhill and are looking for a bike that you can enjoy riding when no shuttles are available then this is should suit.

Favorite Trail:   Locally it would be Mount Joyce, Nerang and Cornubia

    Duration Product Used:   1 Year

    Purchased At:   Nerang Mountainbike

Similar Products Used:   I have not tried the claymore which is about the only thing which would come close, but was not available at the time of purchase.

Bike Setup:   Standard apart from a widget single front chainring and guide. Simpler and gives you a little more cleaence than the 3 ring setup as standard. and odi ruffian grips which are just my long time preference.

Looking for some input on this bike. What would a good price be for a 2012 new Lt 30? Any reliability problems with all the added remote features? Does it climb as well as advertised? Sent from my LT30at using Tapatalk 2Read More »

Scott Genius LT 30 -- Here!

I picked up my new bike this week, but my ride this morning was rained out. I'm hoping tomorrow I'll get a chance to ride. Until then, I can't offer any review, other than to say that I am as excited as a kid getting his first bike. This is the first mountain bike I have purchased in almost 20 ... Read More »
