a Racer

Strengths: Light as hell yet strong and reliable. simple- only 1 pivot. skips over rocks but doesn't throw your feet of as I run flat pedals.Weaknesses: nothinBottom Line: this is the best bike that i have ever ridden and raced. It srvived a whole weekend at fortbill wi no problems. much lower running costs than multi pivot bikes but still works better.

Strengths: Weight - light with stock parts. Lighter with a few changes.
Geometry - Adjustable HA / BB height.
Simplicity - single pivot.
Spec - Fit your choice of grips and pedals , nothing else to change , top shelf parts throughout. Note on the price above: I bought a used bike and saved heap$$$
Overall , a beautiful DH race bike.Weaknesses: A bit tricky to get the shock tuned for BIG hits , bottoms easily due to falling shock rate at the end of travel. Solution - wind up bottoming resistance , ride smoother and dont huck it. Its a race bike !
Shock hardware (pins) were bent after a short time , this may have been the work of the previous owner ? Replaced with 8mm shank HT shoulder bolts , so far , so good.Bottom Line: The most outstanding characteristic of this bike is the geometry. I was immediately cornering faster and with more confidence than on my old bike. My race times fell by 5% (at least)
I love the adjustable BB height. I rolled up to a very rocky rutted DH race course with the BB in a low position , was clipping rocks and roots galore first 2 runs. Moved the shock shuttle to raise the BB 20mm.....problem solved without a huge trade off in cornering stability , whilst Sunday riders were trashing pedals and crank arms with no option other than pick better lines !
Probably overkill for the weekend warrior type DHer , but for serious racers , its a weapon ! Try to test ride one if possible. I did......one ride and I had to buy one.

Strengths: A guy i know has one due to him and his friend being Orange addicts and this is just the bike.Weaknesses: Give you a tendancy to think you are a king and better than everyone else.Bottom Line: This is the bike obviously. If you get better i would be surprised "from a box that is". Get it, if you have the money just get it.
Duration Product Used: Tested or demo'ed only
