Strengths:    None

Weaknesses:    Everything

Bottom Line:
There is no consumer or shop support for this company. You can't get a pivot bolt kit to replace the cheapass hardware that will fail on your frame. Do not pay money for this garbage. Mongoose- you suck. This is not a real bike, it's a Pacific Cycles toy knock-off. I don't care who else likes this thing save yourself some grief and buy a real bike from a real dealer who can access the spare parts you need. If you're gonna try to race this frame you are nuts. Another chinese piece of crap. Oh, and if someone at mongoose reads this- import some spare parts you retards.

Strengths:    Top components for price, excellent responsiveness in jumps, pedals better than anything in its category, soaks up rough terrain like it's pavement. Geometry also supports racing. Bike will take abuse and crashes and just keep on going (believe me, unfortunately I've verified that).

Weaknesses:    A bit heavy for a racing bike. Juicy 7 are okay but not top-of-line.

Bottom Line:
This is, and will still be, best value bike out there! It does what other $6000 do, and sometimes better. Especially jumping and pedaling this will beat most 8" bikes out there, and the Boxxer Team and Vivid 5.1 are sick and work great together.

Date Reviewed: September 4, 2008

Strengths:    Frame stiffness, no pedel bob, geometry from the front head angle for the fast sections to the linkage system that hold the rear wheel on the ground no matter what you hit, will take 10 ft drops when free riding or smashing thru rock gardens when racing

Weaknesses:    A little heavy when stock, pivot bolts

Bottom Line:
This bike is the best thing around, it does take a bit to get the best out of it with smooth cornering but once that is under control off you go.
The pedel eficiancy is excelent with the 4 link pivot system, componants for the price are exelect.
Going from a freeriding Faith to the ECD the frame stiffness is notacably stiffer than the Faith and gives more feedback and confidence to push into corners harder.
The pivot bolts are crap though, you need constant attention and tighteningm that is if they have not snaped first, replace them and then there is no more issues
I would definatley purchase another one but from what i hear is they are going to stop making them

Strengths:    As said in nearly every review, this bike is great bang for your buck. Great at pedalling, jumps all that shizzle. looks different to the usual suspects.

Weaknesses:    As a learning curve I've just found out that the MRP chainguide doesn't work with the external BB found on the 06 ecd. Looks like I will need to find some brass to get an e13

Bottom Line:
I love this bike, I've had no problems with it and would really recommend getting one if you're on a budget.

Strengths:    Turns, turns, turns, turns, then pedals, pedals, pedals, pedals! Spec'd to race out of the box, light, and clean paint job.

Weaknesses:    MRP Chainguide. E13 is the way to go.

Bottom Line:
This bike hands down is the best deal out there. Believe the hype. It sprints like a dream with very little pedal-bob, eats up all the big stuff at speed, and jumps very nimble. Unless someone is paying you to ride a $6000 over-hyped Foes or Intense, save your money, buy this true racer, and get yourself a second or third bike!
