from Stirling, Scotland UK Date Reviewed: November 8, 2007 | | Favorite Trail: | Abernythe | | Duration Product Used: | 2 Years | | Price Paid: |
$3000.00 | | Purchased At: | curtis direct (only way baby) | | Strengths: | Big mean and near unbreakable. I'm 187lbs and ride hard in a straight line style. Hasn't failed to date. | | Weaknesses: | Ok so i've been bending the shock bolts a few times. But a mega avalanche and a few years hammering the scottish DH routes are going to do that to a bike. | | Similar Products Used: | Konas, Giants, oranges and santa cruz.
| | Bike Setup: | thumpercross frame, BMX cranks, FOX shox and forx rest of the kit changes regulaly as things get moved bike to bike or bike to bin. | | Bottom Line: | Look the first issue of this frame was good the new issue has to be better YET! I;m a big rider who dosen't have the finisse of the other riders out there. And it has still held up under my lazy abuse. Believe me when i say you can keep your alu frames. I'm sticking with the hand build class and abuse shrugging ability of the thumpercross! Gray i'll have another please! it's not a bike for the smaller rider out there but US big guys need something to handle the abuse we can give out. So if your a Rennie fan or one of his bigger fans look at the thumpercross as an option. It will be with you as long as Rennie hammers corners like giant with a hangover! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
