Strengths: welll when i got it my mate hade put on speacial eddition dj3s and loads of new stuff probably the strengths are that it is quite light weight its front heavy so you dont kill yoursellf falling of the back and its hubs and breaks are really nice
Weaknesses: its front wheel gets loose but apart from that it all good
Bottom Line:
what do u meen make ursell more clear bottom line?
Buying this bicycle was the biggest mistake of my life! I had to take the derailleur off because it wouldn't hold a gear, the rims warped instantly, the bottom bracket went this spring within about 3 months of riding, the stock tubes are too thin, the front brake almost never works, I went through 2 chains, the shocks are almost gone, the chain guide knocks the chain off with the derailleur equipped, I've paid almost as much in repairs on this bike as I paid too buy it. And to top it all off, I contacted Specialized costumer service, and they basically told me to f*** off. Shame on Specialized for ripping off a 14 year old for in the end over $1600. This bike doesn't even deserve 1 "flaming" chilly. Nothing about this bike is "flaming".

Strengths: super sexxy...bad ass components...very light and flickable...decent disc brakes...
Weaknesses: wheels are too soft...snapped my crank in a month
Bottom Line:
basically this bike is totally bad ass other than snapping the crank after only having it a month....my shop replaced it with a nice redline crank for free on Specialized's expense tho so it was ok. also the wheels dont hold up to well to abuse. im pretty sure that full on 360's would taco them quick

Strengths: This is another review for a 2007 P1
Super strong frame, fork, stem. Cranks were warranty upgrade to holzfeller, Original Chain is still rockin.
Weaknesses: Heavy, Worst wheels ever, Loose Bearing hubs suck. grips wore out fast, Bar is 25" wide ugh!! head set sucks, original hussefelt cranks broke,
Bottom Line:
While the original Parts group is long gone on this bike the reward for hangin on to the frame is awesome when you get it dialed in. After three years my original parts are the frame, dj3 fork, and the chain. Change the oil often in the fork. The fork is what it is. Harsh but strong. If I had it to do over again I'd sell the stock wheels before I rode them and invest in the good stuff. Some thought this was a pricey bike but considering There are DJ frames in the $800 range its a decent deal.

Strengths: Frame is solid, good geometry, fork is very sold and good for jumping. Looks badass. Pedals have awesome grip, but I've heard the bearings don't last that long. Also, bolt on front and rear hubs are nice, and more convenient than 20mm (for bike racks).
Weaknesses: Very heavy (I'm guessing rims and fork are the main reason, but also the frame is very beefy), front hub is junk. Cranks were junk, replaced with Truvative Holzfeller.
Bottom Line:
The guy I bought it from put on the chain tensioner, which makes getting the rear wheel set up much easier. Also, the original Specialized tires were fast rolling, but didn't have a lot of grip on some polished concrete surfaces I've ridden at, so I replaced them with the Kenda K-Rads which have more grip, and are also easier to mount.
The only problems I've had with the bike is getting the cups to stay tight on the front hub, and getting the cranks to stay on. Finally they seem to be good after replacing the bearings and tightening the nuts super tight, but for a while it kept coming loose. The bike shop replaced the cranks with Truvative Holzfeller (originally Ruktion).
I'm 200lbs, and not that talented at smooth landings, but nothing has broken over a year of Ray's/Park/Ubran/Dirt/BMX riding. I've ridden some other bikes (Black Market) that feel lighter and easier to maneuver, but the longer geometry is nicer on this bike for tall guys (I'm 6'3), plus the cost was about 1/3 of a Black Market.

Strengths: easy to bunny hop, lighter than the '08, easy to manual, fast rolling tires
Weaknesses: tires, stock pedals, all the white, i mean come on it just shows dirt
Bottom Line:
i love it, it does everything awesomely, hard to ride if you like to sit down alot, could use a longer travel fork in my opinion but a awesome buy, i would buy one again in a heart beat
Bike Setup: stock except for the pedals i got some v8's

Strengths: frame does not break or bend, fork is solid, too. good street geo, no need to fear that this 3,1kg frame breaks.
Weaknesses: the rest (except frame, stem and fork) is to replace. bar bends, bottom bracket cups break, wheels were brokt in 1 week.
too heavy.
Bottom Line:
the frame and the most of the parts are the same same as the p.1. if you are a beginner and do not ride hard, this is a good match. but as soon as you cn do something with your bike, look for something else and do not buy this, although it is cheap, it is not the best choice. better invest in a more expensive bike than having repairs all the time.
still it is a good bike which you can use in several riding styles, you an even put 2.5 highrollers on and go freeriding.

Strengths: Frame strength and geometry are superb and lend confidence to your riding. Excellent tires. Excellent feeling brakes once set up correctly, so no whining if you don't know how to fine tune brakes. Bunnyhop this thing for a week or two and your biceps and triceps will have some new meaty geometry and frame strength as well, which will lend confidence to your game with the honeys.
Weaknesses: Rims are totally disposable. One moderate drop off and my rear went wacky, but then again allowed me to learn how to true a wheel, which has to be learned anyway. And I suppose Specialized knew that the rear is going to get bent regardless so it's good to know I'm practicing on cheaper rims that I'll ultimately want to replace anyway. Better to wack out the cheap rims first. Having a problem with the Marzocchi DJ3, already clonking and vibrating while braking, but this can be fixed. Just another future upgrade once it's performance limits my own. Mostly just annoying (I want my bike to be PERFECT!!!) Right everybody? ;)
Bottom Line:
It's the P2! In steel! It is THE attack bike. Get to know how to ride this bike well and you'll be able to ride anything well, including your girlfriend. You get to learn physics while riding this bike.
It's also very, very, good looking. Get used to feeling paranoid in your neighborhood and locking your doors tight- everyone will stare with hungry eyes at your P2 chromo in Orange/White. If you really want to ride and ride well then you'll accept that there will be more investment in components over time. No bike or component is indestructible, but this frame feels like it is. Once it doesn't it's because you have advanced in skill and it's time to strengthen up components. Straight off the showroom floor, this is a mean bike, it will teach you well and you'll love it continually if you love it the first time you see it. Maybe it is about 100 - 200 bucks more expensive than it "should" be, compared to other bikes, but that extra 100 or 200 bucks is for the extra "something" that IS the P2.

Strengths: Amazing Frame, Great Geometry, Good Cockpit (bars, stem, grips, seat) Not too heavy. SS
Weaknesses: WHEELS!!! these Wheels are the worst wheels ever! bent the front rim the first time out. the rear wheel needs a hub overhaul after 3 months! The Front wheel has a bent rim. Whoever built these wheels needs to be shot. the spokes are the SAME LENGTH!!! for a front disc wheel this is the worst mistake ever.
Bottom Line:
This is a reveiw for the 2008 P.1. Replace the wheels, and the pedals when they wear out, and this bike is a perfect do it all bike. It can be run XC, DH, FR, Park, and definitely home on the DJ. I would also grab some Chain tensioners, such as a surly tugnutt. The BMX spec on the cranks is nice, allowing for a potential microdrive setup. umm...I would definitely replace the wheels, and if you have some extra cash, a new fork. Other than that a great bike and a good way to get into DJ or anything that requires a solid bike.

Strengths: Great parts mix. Solid frame. Specialized quality.
Weaknesses: Fork is adequate, but not exceptional. Something with a little more room for adjustments would be nice. Bike is a little on the pricey side.
Bottom Line:
Overall great buy. Factory setup is good enough to get you going. Frame is exceptional.
