Strengths:    Stiff, rigid chainstays with enough suspension travel up front. Includes a mega-range climbing gear which helps a lot! Requires more maintenence than most bikes in this range. (I had to replace the seatpost, front brake pads, and 3rd chainring after 1 month.) Overall, Once stocked up( I added a sunn rim up front for further strength, upgraded the front fork, replaced brake pads with all-weather, racing pads, replaced seatpost, and installed rapid fire shifters.)

Weaknesses:    -it is a heavy bike.
-The grip shifters that come with the 2001 model are huge, which caused a lot of accidental shifts.
-The front wheel stripped at the brake mount and had to be replaced.

Bottom Line:
I am happy with my Kokanne and Just finished a total overhaul.

I am now considering a better fork, but for and entry level to average it is good. (I used it at the local races and did very well, even through a couple feet of mud and water.)

All in All it has served me as a great bike, i would recomend it for a lot of people (it can really take a beating, and I mean and i mean a 8 1/2 foot drop) and plan to have mine for a while.

Weaknesses:
none, what do you expect for 400 Cdn

Bottom Line:
For $400 CDN I rode this bike hard. I weigh 215lbs and nothing broke on this bike, even on rough rides. Get a front fork and away you go.
I did sell it after 6 months. Highly recommend this bike to any beginner/intermediate rider.
