Strengths:    Shimano XT headset and cantilever brakeset.Lots of clearance. No chain slap or chain suck. Light for a Cromoly elevated chainstay bike.Hell,I didn't know Nashbar made such a thing. Very rare.

Weaknesses:    Lots of rust but that'll clean up.

Bottom Line:
This is an older frame, possibly a 1990 or 1991.It's an elevated chainstay frame with a 1 1/8th headtube,18.5" size with a 22.5" top tube.Wheelbase is 39" which is tight.I need to check this again. I found this frame laying in the bike junkyard known as Faber's Cyclery and traded two of my old frames for this frame.Being a fan for the elevated chainstay design,I had to have it.It's painted in pearl white with florescent yellow splatters and teal/fuschia NASHBAR 4000X logos with black outline and fuschia paint brush style graphics.Very early 90s.Frame came with a straight blade fork, again typical for this era.I didn't know Nashbar sold this type of frame.Very rare. Frame welds are clean. The rear chainstays are connected to the wishbone style seat stays with small diameter reinforcing tubing as these style frames were prone to flex when standing on the pedals during sprints. This bike has rear vertical dropouts,Lawyer tab fork dropouts. I can install an oldschool Manitou Mach 2 fork. The 4000X was apparently spec'd with Shimano XT components. It'll be built up with XT and Deore stuff from the parts box.Once this bike is built up,I'll do a trail test.
