Strengths: The best riding ti hardtail on the planet. Truly amazing. Unbreakable, nice finish, six inch head tube keeps it stiff and predictable up front. Titanium is THE material for an XC rig. Beats carbon and steel without issue.Weaknesses: It uses voodoo on its owner... Even after not riding it for most of the season, you just can't consider selling it even though the type of riding you're now doing is about as far from "ti hardtail" as you can get...Bottom Line: Great ride. Great geometry. Truly, truly, truly a classic ride. This bike has a soul. If you can buy one do it - but remember, you'll never truly own a bike like this... I don't know what that means exactly. I think I'll go outside and dust mine off.
Favorite Trail: The one I'm on...
Duration Product Used: More than 3 years
Price Paid:
$800.00
Purchased At: closeout frame at speedgoat.com
Similar Products Used: Litespeed, Airborne, Merlin, Moots and Seven. All very nice and racey but I prefer the geometry of the Kona.
Bike Setup: This is a 2000 hei-hei -one of the last frames made - with an 03 Duke race, XT / XTR, 517 wheels and arch supreme stoppers.
