Strengths: Handles well, 21-speedWeaknesses: Noisy gear shift, OEM tires terrible and replaced with Michelin tires, stiff suspension, no shock absorbersBottom Line: The model I have is the Vector V1. Bought for my wife, but too small for her, even though she is 5'2". She felt cramped riding it. Got taken for a ride with the price on this model. Paid too much, probably because of the location of the store.

Strengths: I like the brakes they have worked great. Not too heavy for an entry level MTB
Nice low gear for Hills and technical ridesWeaknesses: Had some probelms with chain skip, but was remidied. It would be nice to have some front shocks, also the 1" steerer make them difficult to find. Street tires.
Bottom Line: I like it, it feels small and nimble, aside from the chain skip, it has been problem free.
I will keep for awhile yet and try and locate some supension forks for the front.
Decent overall package for the price!

Strengths: Looks good.Weaknesses: Shimano system sucks. Brakes suck. Makes an unidentified notching noise when i pedal hard.Bottom Line: I got taken on this bike. I didn't know anything about bikes and consequently i got sold a piece of crap. I didn't know anything about front suspension or anything at all. I paid 220 the next week i saw a V1 with front suspension for 200.
Maybe the bike was built poorly but this things brakes periodically drag and this notching noise, when i really get on it, is annoying. I have had this bike 7 months and have learned a lot about biking and realize i could have done a ton better. And on top of all this the 2000 V0 looks cooler than mine which i bought 2 months before the 2000's came out. Wish i had known that. If you can find one for 150 and don't need it for anything but pedaling around a trail its fine but other than that don't waste your money.
