Strengths: Very sturdy frame. No dropoff's greater than 1.5' tried yet (due to me). When the components are clean and adjusted the XT rear and Deore front work perfectly. The Formula front hyd. disc is great for cross country but squeeks if not clean (no need for a bell to announce your arrival). The Sun rims are supposed to be soft but for Xcountry mine are still true. Pounded in 24hours of adrenaline and it actually works better now (maybe I just broke it in properly). Once the air is set in the forks the Z4 works well for Xcountry (I weigh 185). I can bottom the forks but they don't clunk at their limit, must have good rubber stoppers or something. Panaracer Fire XC Pros have great traction.Weaknesses: Fork travel of the Z4 is a good for cross country but not enough for good single track or anything more extreme. Bike is a little heavier than competition (mine's about 25-26lbs). I did break 3 chains in a hard summer, not sure if this is normal or my fault.Bottom Line: A great hardtail to start with or upgrade. A couple pounds heavy for Xcountry but I'll just train a little harder this winter. I will consider upgrading to a longer travel fork but that's it.
Note on the price, mine was a year old and collecting dust in the bike shop when I bought it.

Similar Products Used: I find it similar to my friend's Trek 8000. The Duke XC on her bike is a better fork but doesn't feel any more plush, maybe just some tinkering needed with the Duke.

Strengths: Nice frame, weight not bad. upgrade worthy for sure. fairly rigid.Weaknesses: fork too spongy & bottoms out easily. i'm a light rider (140 lbs) but i can still bottom it out by just throwing my weight on it. deore parts shift AMAZINGBottom Line: A good overall bike. AMAZING frame, $#!tty fork.

Strengths: descent price 1600 canadian, good front disc brake (formula b4), xt rear d. deore front d. shifters are descent too. good weight and strength.Weaknesses: fork doesnt have enough travel. when i have it pumped to 40psi and hit a small 3 ft drop my fender smakes into the tire.Bottom Line: good bike for the price but since the z4 air starts off with 80mm I suggest upgrading to a 100mm or buy a better fork. good weight and pretty strong.

Strengths: Good Component selection, XT rear, deore front, avid 3.0 rear brake formula B4 disc front (works good for XC) sun rims ZJ18, Marzocchi Z4 air (plush). Very Good Price. Canadian. Nice panaracer XCpro tires. Sweet colour (not color :) Feels sturdy takes 4ft hits easy (soon to be larger but I don't wanna crack my frame, I’m not sure just how strong this bike is) climes good I guess I don't really notice a difference its mainly feel. Feels nice after my 1998 15" Norco big footWeaknesses: A little hefty (two pounds more then a 1999 kona nunu, just have to get stronger) I bought this bike a bit large for me an 18.5" and I am 5'8" so I have abet of a hard time getting the weight on the rear wheel.Bottom Line: When I saw the price tag say $500Cnd off I ran (I was bikeless) home and grabbed my checkbook, has a nice spec sheet, Good weight to strength ratio. I'm Happy

Strengths: Light and strong frame, Good parts and looks, very nice set up!Weaknesses: Too long stem, nice for Cross Country Not for free riding, Forks a little soft for larger drops. Soft rims.Bottom Line: Very nice bike, Have a mate who thrashes the hell out of his and all he ends up with is broken rims. Very strong frame which can take all the big hits, you can also down hill on it to a degree!
Nice bike if you want to free ride or use it for jumping as it is very light and has good gometry. It has a very low point of gravity. It also kicks ass on Cross Country!
