Strengths:    Light weight is one of the main attraction. Yet it has such a aggressive massive looking frame that is sturdy and strong. All in, the bike is only 10.8kg.

Weaknesses:    Distance between handle bar and seat too near (need longer stem and push seat backward). Hard to carry when climbing a slope. Seat pole diameter is a impossible to find 31.4, therefore have to live with the heavy seat pole.

Bottom Line:
This is about the best bike by Mongoose, the latest one is no longer exciting to see.

Strengths:    Strong. Good looks. Replaceable rear gear hanger. Stand over height.

Weaknesses:    Weight. Only 3 sizes available.

Bottom Line:
I wanted one of these frames since i first saw one. Despite the weight, its a top climber, and can handle any abuse you can throw at it! The replaceable rear gear hanger is needed on an Alu frame (replaced it once already after crashing), but the frame it's self has survived. Quality is great, much better than newer Mongoose designs.
Does well decending, climbing or just playing. Top frame for the money!

Strengths:    Stiff frame
Nice paint job
Can totally take a serious beating.

Weaknesses:    The paint chips pretty easy.
Frame itself is 4.2 lbs

Bottom Line:
Once I got familar with the frame, this bike bonded with me. This thing can take alot of serious crap that I go through on the trails, I'm 165 lbs 5'9". I broke the famous XT V-brake(along with my helmet), yet there was no harm to the frame. The balance is pretty good, I see race-ready Ti bikes comming in @ 23 lbs. My bike here with the aluminum frame is 24 lbs and I'm not finished with it. I give kudos to the Mongoose engineers, I like it and would recommend it to anyone. "Mongoose" was a big name in BMX, when I started, they know the "DIRT" scene!!!

Strengths:    Obviously the stiff frame, great accel
angles are good all the rest

Weaknesses:    yer the mavic hoops are a bit crumby, and the seatpost is cheap, but for the price mostly pretty good

Bottom Line:
This bike will last, it's a great all rounder and a good entry level race bike. If you want to decend like hell this bike wont hold you back. If you want to climb the rigs no limit.

I've pushed over people on much more expensive frames then the 7.3 in races and I always get a few comments on the low price I payed for what is really a race ready bike

Shimano parts are faultless

Mine came with semi-slicks that are CRAP !

Bottom Line:
Pretty good all round bike. I have never had to replace any parts (except for tires) and has run faultlessly. Great price for high quality parts !

oval to round seat and chain stays - strength

Weaknesses:
none really

Bottom Line:
The cross country weanies don't have a clue - this is a great value jumping come play come slalom frame that can be altered to suit your style. i wanted a small frame size but could only get a medium which has turned out to be great. If Brian Lopes can kick ass on them they must have been good. Way more fun than a dually

Bottom Line:
The newman frame is good for those of us with short legs, but I was a bit miffed over the spec of the brakes and the rims. The limited sizes don't really do justice to all body shapes either

Strengths:
Good absorption over rugged terrain. Stops on a dime. Fairly light if you have the energy to make it work for you. Overall, very good components.

Bottom Line:
This bike has all the right parts and feel to it that make it a great deal for the asking price. The performance is top notch. I give it 5 flames. Good value for the bike that doesn't quit.

Strengths:
The bike seems to perform quite well given the limited time that I've had it. I've only really tested it on rock surfaces, so I think that I will be able to give a more thorough review after the summer.

Weaknesses:
I had to return the first frame because one of the welded attachment plugs was loose. Other than that no complaints.

Bottom Line:
Good price for the components. Nice look. Would prefer if the bike came more rugged tires rather than the semi-slicks.

Strengths:
good absorbtion,well design for
climbing and the mixe component make the bike very well surrounded

Weaknesses:
it's been made for light rider cause im 190lbs and it seem to me that im make the poor little guy work harder than it is suposed to. the custom tires are slick type

Bottom Line:
overall it is a good bike if we left a side the fact that the custom tire are sheep and you will want to replace them, the manitou sx-e have only 1 adjustement for the pre-load(but work very well compare to others manitou)i give a 4 for the fact that you have to put a little money on it to have it work your way

Strengths:
this bike is very strong and stiff. it has a superb suspension and the frame looks really good! the components are also very good for the price!

Weaknesses:
i guess this bike is abit over built! coz i don't think anyone would need such a strong frame. therefore the bike slightly towards the heavy side.

Bottom Line:
this bike is obviously extremely very value for money! XT-LX parts for this price... i would recommend this bike to anyone who is 60 kgs and lighter coz anyone who is lighter than that needs a heavier frame to hold him down when in extreme off road and XC. but for anyone heavier than that forget abt it you wouldn't get the performance.

i tried mongoose SX 6.5 and the bike is good! never failed me in that 3/4 years i owned it but because of pride i changed to the NX7.3

Bike Setup:
i guess this bike is so strong that it can take what ever you want to do with it but if you are going to bash it up real hard better change the spokes to cross ones.

Bottom Line:

No complaint whatsoever about the NX 7.3. Besides the lack of room for an extra water bottle everything is OK and more. Very stiff characteristics on single track riding (my rock shox judy sl compensates very good for the stiffness.
Good bike for begginners bu not for HARDCORE!

Bottom Line:

I don't think Mongoose could have made a cheeper bike!!!
It's HEAVY and hard to carry, what a piece of junk.
The only good parts the bike has are the Shimano parts.
I poped two tires. The Mavic hoops are cheep and are hard to keep true.
Mavic makes a good rim, but what went wrong???? Momgoose tried to make it
look good with a neat paint job, but too bad the bike was not near as good
as the paint. The Manitou shocks ceed to work on the copresion valving it
sucks I traded them in on a set of Rock Shox Judy SL's. The cornering was
not easy at best. The frame showed signs of fatige when I sent it back
to the orient. The president of Mongoose should be shot for put in the crap
on wheels on the market. When i got my money back I bought a TREK 8000, it
was priced less different wheelset and a couple of other thing are changed. Trek makes the nicest frame in the world. If you hate Trek, remember that they
have the same components you do, so if you have a component problem it's
not Trek's fault. Or any frame maker in fact.
Mongoose made a crap frame.
I give it one star for a nice looking paint job and Shimano parts
I wonder if Shimano knows about the stuff their parts are being on???
i would give it a -10/5 stars if it didnt have a nice paint job.
