Strength:

Rides awesome, stiff and responsive ride. Great geometry. Climbs better than expected. Super light.

Weakness:

The sid shock could be better and the handlebar is a little narrow.

Great bike if you can find one. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

Strength:

this bike has a sweet frame. its light strong and fast. i only did a few upgrades to the bike bike. the xt specs are great and match the silver finish of the bike. i added race face lowrisers and marzocchi z1 mcr. it makes a sweet fun bike that looks sweet. the seat and chain stay are beefy but still light

Weakness:

the rock shox sid it was so flexy and didn't have enough travel(63 mm). they should put on race face turbine cranks and it would be sweet.

this bike it strong well made and well pricedand even better its light. its made for xc but i use it for freeride and i haven't had any problems.

saddle ?

Nice 99 bike, light and efficient. Softer ride than with my steel frame. perfect handling for climbing and downhill. Too soft? no, i made three races with it and increase my performances. Nothing more to say, just try it !!

Strength:

I fly on this bike. I can't help but fly on this bike. I start pedaling and it takes over! Who would've thought... something good from the west coast! Very aggressive.

Weakness:

It makes me think that I can outrun cars.

It's not often that I feel this natural on a bike. It definitely felt custom made. I suppose that I was lucky. I've never been fond of mountain bikes due to the clunkiness factor but this one educated me. And it's nice and stiff.

Strength:

XT components are sweet and the front and rear disk stop on a dime compared to others. The frame is stiff, but rides quite nice.

Weakness:

My F*&^&%&^ing cahin broke four miles into a ride causing my rear derailuer to get caught in the rear cog which was unfixable until I got it home.

This bike kicks ass and I got it for $900.00 becasue it was on clearance at the end of the year, what a deal!!!!

Actually, all i have is the Marin Ovation Aluminum frame, and it is sweet. I built the frame up with some XT parts, Sun rims, Kore, and other goodies. The frame is sweet. It's climbing abilities live up to Marin's name, and the bike itself is nice. Polished color with anodized red stuff. I like the frames stiffness, and the fork (Manitou SX) i put on matches my frame well. A must have for riders out there.

Strength:

Although not my first choice at the time of purchase this bike (Rocky Mountain's have poor availability in the UK) after 6 months use, has been a delight. It is light, and fast. It has a lively ride which makes trails exciting. A shorter stem has produced a comfortable ride over long distances (upto 50 miles cross country), and the bike has stood up well to knocks and bruises over the last 6 months. Well pleased. Good service from Stanley Fearns in Derbyshire, who are a Marin approved supplier .

Weakness:

Longer seat required, slight gearing problem with 9 speed cog (more irritating than problematic), and handle bar grips. All minor stuff really.

If you like a fast exciting ride then get one. You won't be disappointed. £ for £ a good investment.

This Bike is Excellent. I bought one in January. With full XT components to a Rock Shox SID XC front suspension, What more could you want. the Frame itself is a work of art, with the new rain drop design for added stiffness it's awsome.

Strength:

Light, strong, quality components, looks good.

Weakness:

I don't like the pedals (VP-106), front brake screams. Expensive.

Wonderful bike! I have used it for one year now, and I love it! Light and strong, comfortable to ride even though the frame is very stiff. The SID fork makes an excellent job, and I've had no problems with it so far. The XT components work very well.

However, I don't like the VP 106 pedals. Compared to my old Shimano 535 they are more difficult to clip into, and if you place your foot wrong you can get stuck in the wrong position where the release mecanism doesn't work. Disastrous!

If you replace the pedals, you get an excellent bike.
