Strengths:    Beefy frame, massive gussets, really stiff but light as well. great geometry for a stable DH frame, long chainstays

Weaknesses:    derailleur hanger

Bottom Line:
I don't know why Marin doesn't make this frame anymore, it ranks with a P.3 or Kona Stuff easily. It's stiff, beefy and has great geometry for all kinds of riding. I'm a beefy 200 lbs and this frame has never given me any grief. If you can find a used one, BUY IT, you won't be disappointed.

Strengths:    I have basically changed nearly everything on my bike i have bought halo combat 26" wheels on it mazzochi Z.1 MCR forks truvativ cranks mugura louise disc brakes so it is basically not the same bike as when i bought it.

Weaknesses:    frame was taken off me deamed dangerous and recalled by marin so it even isnt the same frame any more so i dont know why i am writing thos review about a bike i dont even hav any more. (so no weakness so far)

Bottom Line:
i had a marin quake 5.0 but that was recalled by marin which relly pissed me off but then they gave me a new frame for free and that was a dundundu a marin quake ex-c i think it is either a 13 or a 14" frame i am not sure it doesnt say it was imported from america to great britain my frame is black and it does look amazin and a beast it makes me druel when i look at it as you can tell i have fallen in love this beast of a bike i think my bike set up is the best around it so comfy wgen im doing my big drops, jumps, amd downhill i hav also tried a bit of BSX which didnt feel to my liking but the bike handles great doing everything that i do even cros-country my fovourite is freeriding which is perfect for this bike.

Strengths:    This is a review about the quake 9.0.
Good parts...unique in my country, light and strong for some drops... Suspension is good such as brakes..

Weaknesses:    Came with the 8.0 fork (psylo xc) is allways bottoming out.. Looks like a xc bike..has xc parts witch actually brake..when doing big drops to flat.. That handle bars that say "Dh Double butted" are so thin...All the ovation parts.. except the hubs..Those rims are not apropriate for the bike I payd for..

Bottom Line:
Well The story of this bike...ooh! It's so big..
The Gt bike I used to have has broken and the frame was just..like just for showing the new gt line...not for riding..
Well..I just knew this when I broke it...I've done some huge drops with it...I could've been hurt...So when I knew it I told to the shop guy that I would pick up the marin and pay the difference..Actually at the begining I thoght that it was a xc bike..wich didn't matter cos it has good components and my idea was to change the frame for a le toy III...That's a frame.. Is still my idea to upgrade the frame...as soon I have the money :)) But this bike is cool..
it's a big size and very difficult to manual..
I've injured my shoulder trying to manual on it..imagine..
This bike is great for that people that do extreme xc and some urbans.. it climbs good as it has xc geometry..this is not the ideal for the bunny hoppers..yeah!
