Strengths: Fairly light, and good components where it counts (XTR derailer, Mars Elite fork, etc).Weaknesses: Marin's 'Ovation' brand is relatively unknown, and is all over the bike. However, I haven't broken anything that says 'ovation' on it yet.Bottom Line: A great value for a great XC bike. She's not the skinniest on the trail, but she's a comparatively cheap date. If you're a serious XC rider, but can't afford a full race spec rig this is a great compromise. I've been beating on mine for 7 years and she's only just recently starting to show her age (Rims are is pretty much destroyed, fork has developed a small airleak, etc). Will buy from Marin again!

Strengths: Stiff as hell; and light. And of course - goodlooking.Weaknesses: ??? Maybe it's little bit too receptive to scratches.Bottom Line: Somehow I have had only Marin-bikes and this is my 4th one. Except the price - Marin just is expensive - I can only use the superlative. It just insist to go and ride, long and fast. And it's never let's you down, no matter if it's mud or water. Pure sport-bike for serious riders.

Strengths: Very stiff, fluid and responds quickely. It takes all the stress I put on it. I am very impressed with the componets.Weaknesses: The WTB seat is a little hard, and manitou mars elite fork is hard to keep air in. No major problems.Bottom Line: This is a great bike. Any one with the extra dollars should invest in the juniper trail. It moves quickely and is lighter than the old Marins. The streanghts outweigh the insignificant weaknesses hands-down. Any racer/ hard core rider that loves long cross country rides should try this bike. Marin did a great job with this one!!! 5 chilis on the overall, and 5 on the value (if I had to pay the 1800 asking price, It may have been 4)
