Strengths:    frame is really durable its been put to the test and saved my ass a few times.

Weaknesses:    I have had 3 chain breaking encounter's in my time as an owner of the bike. All in the middle of my down stroke.Had it replaced 2 months ago no problems since.

    Bottom Line:
It's a great bike for the price that I purchased it at Iwill probrably not get rid of the bike unless a great offer was made.

Strengths:    Perfect size. Had trouble finding a specialized or jamis to fit, the marin was right where I needed it. strong frame, nice clean ride, shocks are getting broken in and feeling good.

Weaknesses:    the seat was uncomfortable at first, but I'm starting to notice it less and less. You might want to change it out, but I'm keeping mine as is for the time being.

    Bottom Line:
This is a great entry level bike for someone who wants to throw themselves into the sport. And the price I paid is just enough to make me feel guilty as sin if I don't ride it everyday. As a college kid, this was a huge (risky) purchase for me so I shopped around alot, comparing prices and quality of components...I think I made out pretty well.

Strengths:    Excellent geometry. This bike climbs well, excells both at fast and steep downhills. I just love the Judy forks.

Weaknesses:    The components are not really racing quality, so they have to be adjusted regularly. Ovation brake levers suck - they are way too loose and make funny noises, so I had to change them.

    Bottom Line:
This is a great bike for the price. It is not state of the art technology but is robust and works very well. The frame is just plain great and I love riding it. Great downhilling capabilites, the forks are a marvel, no problems climbing.
