Strengths:    Light, superb climber, with a really nice colour scheme. I've had no complaints with the Manitou Mars 01 fork.

Weaknesses:    I don't recommend the IRC Notos tires or the WTB saddle

    Bottom Line:
I bought this one purely because I found a great deal at a shop going out of business. It's an excellent hard tail with very little negatives. If your not going fast then it's you, not the bike!

Strengths:    Extremely light frame adds to the wreckless down hill descents and quick uphill climbs.Roundout of overall quality parts. LX up front and XT in tha' rear. For the money you get an awesome Columbs frame. Marin deserves much props' for their quiality steel and chro-moly frames. For the money, I believe they're the best on the market. Manitou Mars 1, need I say more?

Weaknesses:    $#@%ing generic "Ovation" seatpost, stem and straight bar. With all due respect, What the hell were you guys thinking???? The WTB seat is extremely hard on the marble sack. If yer' gonna do some upgrading, focus on these parts first to make for a more comfortable ride.

    Bottom Line:
One great Hardtail. Quality and Affordability. Asides from the generic components in the cockpit, Marin did a great job on the overall setup and appearance of the Juniper Trail. Go to yer' nearest proshop and demand it by name, you won't be sorry.

Similar Products Used:   No other bike compares......yet.

Bike Setup:   Easton Monkey Lite carbon riser bar, KORE elite stem, Salsa tacky grips, Salsa titanium/chro-moly skewers (makes the LX hubs scream on descents), Thompson pro seatpost and Koobi ergonomic saddle. The Manitou Mars 1 shocks are amazing, much better than many of Manitous more expensive models. Definately keep these babies.

Strengths:    Super light and nimble frame - well balanced. Well set-up as standard.

Weaknesses:    Bits of Avid bakes tend to rust very quickly - cable clamp and a couple of bolts.

    Bottom Line:
Fantastic bike - great for uphill grinds and really maneuverable on single tracks and downhils.
Good gearing setup but brake component quality (Avid 25)could be better (work very well tho). Good as your second purchase once you've worked out what you need in a bike

More fun than a ferret down your trousers!

Strengths:    climbing, lively frame for aluminum, paint job, mistake proof handling, fork, drivetrain

Weaknesses:    bottom bracket creaks alot but the quick fix is to tighten the crank bolts before each ride

    Bottom Line:
this is the best bike i have ever had the pleasure of riding any person who is just starting to race could buy this bike and be very competitive. the paint job is definetly one of the best i have ever seen. i would recomend this bike to any one who wanted a quality hardtail. this bike flat out hauls on super fast descents, flowing singletrack, and will enable you to climg that local hill you've been trying to conquer for months
